If you are planning to buy an electric vehicle, we suggest you wait till next year. Now you may be wondering why we would say this. Well, the reason is that the coming year of 2025 will be filled with electric car launches, and a total of 15, yes, you heard that right, 15 new electric cars will be making their debut. So, without any delay, here is a list of electric cars that will be launched next year in India.
Hyundai Creta EV
The first electric car which will be launched in India will be the new Hyundai Creta EV. The company will officially take the covers off this SUV at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo next year. It will be offered with a 45 kWh battery pack, which will provide a range of 450 km. As for the electric motor, it will be able to generate 138 bhp and 255 Nm of torque. Pricing is expected to start around Rs 22 lakh.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara
At the same time at Bharat Mobility Auto Expo, Maruti Suzuki will also be launching its first-ever electric car, the e Vitara, in India. The company has already showcased this model in Milan, Italy. It will boast two battery pack options, 49 and 61 kWh, with ranges of 450-500 km, respectively. It will be based on the Heartect-e skateboard platform and will be priced around Rs 20-25 lakh.
Toyota Urban Electric SUV
Toyota will also launch a badge-engineered version of the e Vitara, and it will be called the Urban Electric SUV. It will look slightly different on the outside when compared to the e Vitara, and the interior, which will almost be the same, will offer some differences in color scheme. Mechanically, both electric SUVs will use the exact same powertrain.
Mahindra BE 6
Mahindra has already showcased its newest electric product, the BE 6, and it has managed to grab all the eyeballs in the country. Next year it will be launched, and its final pricing will be revealed. The BE 6 will be offered with two battery pack options – 59 and 79 kWh. The former will offer 535 km, and the latter will offer 682 km on a single full charge. As for the electric motor, it will generate a staggering 282 bhp and 380 Nm of torque.
Mahindra XEV 9E
Alongside the BE 6, the company will also launch the XEV 9E in the country. It is the coupe version of the upcoming electric XUV700. This SUV will also boast the same 59 and 79 kWh battery pack options. The range offered with battery packs will be 542 km and 656 km, respectively. At the moment, the company has revealed the starting price, which will be Rs 21.9 lakh, and the rest of the pricing will be revealed next year in January.
Mahindra XUV 3XO EV
Mahindra is also gearing up for the launch of the XUV 3XO EV, which is essentially the facelifted version of the XUV 400 EV. The exact date of launch of this new SUV is unknown. However, what we do know is that the company will be offering the same 34.5 kWh and 39.5 kWh battery packs. In terms of design changes, it will now look similar to the XUV 3XO that is currently on sale, with some EV-specific design cues.
Tata Harrier EV
Tata Motors is also planning to launch a number of new electric SUVs next year. Of these, the first will be the Harrier EV, which will be launched around March of next year. Reportedly, it will be launched with a battery pack in the range of 60-80 kWh and offer a driving range of around 500 km. It will also get an AWD setup thanks to its dual motors.
Tata Safari EV
Like the Harrier EV, the seven-seater Safari will also be offered in the EV guise. It will get the same powertrain as the Harrier. In terms of design, it will boast a slightly different appearance than the standard ICE variant.
Tata Sierra EV
In addition to the Safari and Harrier EVs, Tata will also be bringing back the Sierra badge. This time around, it will be an EV and will be based on the brand’s new Acti.ev platform. The exact battery pack or details of power figures have not been revealed. However, it has been reported that it will offer a range of 500 km.
MG Windsor EV 50 kWh
MG recently launched the Windsor EV in India, and since its launch, it has become the best-selling EV. This new model is currently offered with a 38 kWh battery pack, which offers it a range of 331 km. However, it has been reported that next year the company will be launching it with a 50 kWh battery pack, which could offer it a range of 450 km.
MG Cyberster
Next month, in January, MG will also be launching its first electric sports car, the Cyberster, in India. This new two-door coupe with scissor doors will be launched in the range of Rs 80-85 lakh. It will come with single motor RWD as well as dual motor AWD powertrains. Once launched, it will become an electric alternative to the BMW Z4.
Kia Syros EV
Hyundai’s sister brand Kia is gearing up for the launch of the Syros EV. This will be the brand’s first electric offering in India. At the moment, the exact date of launch of this EV SUV has not been revealed. However, it will reportedly be launched in the second half of next year. It will get a battery pack ranging from 35-40 kWh and offer a range of 400 km.
Skoda Enyaq IV
The Czech automaker Skoda will finally be launching its first all-electric SUV in India, the Enyaq IV. This luxury SUV will be offered with a 77 kWh battery pack, which will provide a range of 513 km. As for power, it will make 265 bhp thanks to its dual motor AWD setup. It will be priced around Rs 50-55 lakh once launched in India.
Skoda Elroq
Following the launch of the Enyaq IV, the company will also launch the Skoda Elroq electric SUV in India as well. It is believed that it will be launched later in 2025. It will be offered in four variants, namely 50, 60, 85, and 85X. As for battery pack options, they will be 55 kWh, 63 kWh, and 82 kWh units, with a maximum range of 560 km. Power will range from 168 to 295 bhp.
Volkswagen ID.4
Last on this list is the Volkswagen ID.4 electric SUV. The company has unveiled this model in India. However, it will be officially launched sometime next year. Based on Volkswagen’s MEB Platform, it will be offered with 52 kWh and 77 kWh battery pack options, and the maximum range will be 500 km. The ID.4 will be priced around Rs 65 lakh.
