New Honda Amaze with adas

The Japanese automotive giant Honda Cars India is gearing up for the official launch of its new third-generation Amaze. It will officially make its debut on December 4th, and prior to that, a few completely undisguised units have been seen around. Recently, a new video has been shared online, showing the car finished in a red shade. It has also been revealed that the Honda Amaze will become the first sub-compact sedan in India to come with ADAS.

This short clip, showing a red Honda Amaze, has been shared on Instagram and comes courtesy of Car India News. We can note that an all-new Honda Amaze, finished in a bold red color, was being unloaded from a trailer. At the front, the new Amaze gets a new hexagonal-pattern grille finished in gloss black.

It also gets Elevate-inspired style dual-LED projector headlights, new fog lights, and a chunky chrome bar at the front on top of the new grille. Apart from these details, what can also be noted is that it gets a set of similar-looking alloy wheels as the current-generation Honda City.

New Amaze Will Come With ADAS

In addition to all the new details, we can note that there is a camera-based ADAS sensor on top of the windshield. It is the Honda Sensing ADAS Level 1 setup, which is seen on the Honda City. This will make the Honda Amaze the first and only sub-compact sedan in India to offer ADAS.

Is the Camera-Based ADAS Good?

Although the camera-based ADAS is a good addition in terms of active safety features, it must be mentioned that it is not better than the radar-based ADAS used in most cars that offer Level 2 ADAS capabilities. The camera-based ADAS is an older technology, which does not include a host of features that radar-based ADAS systems offer.

Most likely, the list of camera-based ADAS features of the new Honda Amaze includes adaptive cruise control, a lane departure mitigation system with lane departure warning, collision mitigation braking, automatic high beam, and lane-keep assist.

What Other Changes Will the New Amaze Get?

Apart from the ADAS and changes at the front, the new Honda Amaze will also get a new rear-end design. This time around, Honda has taken the safer route by copying the rear-end design of the Honda City. The new Amaze gets slightly chunkier U-shaped LED taillights and a new, simple, and sophisticated rear bumper.

Honda is also offering the new Amaze with a brand-new cabin layout as well. On the inside, the 2024 Amaze gets an almost identical cabin layout to the Honda Elevate. The center is dominated by a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Just underneath the screen are the sleek air conditioning vents.

Moving a little below, it also gets automatic climate control, which has also been borrowed from the Elevate. There will also be two cup holders, and most likely, it could also get a wireless charging pad for smartphones. Other features of the new Amaze will include a new multifunction steering wheel, rear AC vents, and a few others.

2024 Honda Amaze: Powertrain and Pricing

In terms of the powerplant, Honda is yet again playing it safe by offering the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine as the current-generation model. This motor is capable of producing 88.5 bhp and 110 Nm. Both a 5-speed manual and a CVT transmission are likely to be offered with the new Amaze.

At the moment, the exact pricing details of the new Amaze have not been leaked. However, we can expect a price bump over the current-generation model, which starts at Rs 7.23 lakh and goes up to Rs 9.99 lakh.
