2024 Kia Carnival Premium MPV Bookings To Commence From September 16

The South Korean automotive giant, Kia India, is gearing up for the launch of the all-new Kia Carnival premium MPV in India. Recently, the company announced that it is all set to begin pre-launch bookings for its much-anticipated 2024 Carnival. As per Kia, bookings for the new Carnival will start on September 16, 2024. Customers will be able to secure their bookings with a minimum amount of Rs 2 lakh. They can do this via authorized Kia dealerships across India or through the official Kia website, starting at 12 AM.

The all-new 2024 Kia Carnival has been highly anticipated in the Indian automotive market. The upcoming model will boast a ton of luxurious features. It will get an all-new, more aggressive-looking exterior design language. It will feature a similar fascia to its international siblings like the Sorento.

It will also come with LED headlights, LED DRLs, and LED taillights. Apart from this, it will also have new alloy wheels. Its list of features will include a dual sunroof, power-sliding rear doors, a head-up display, and a digital rear-view mirror. The vehicle will also be equipped with front and rear dash cams, an updated digital key with fingerprint recognition, and ambient lighting.

Other highlights of this premium MPV will include an ADAS suite that will offer a comprehensive range of autonomous driving aids. This will include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring.

For the comfort of its rear passengers, it will also come with second-row powered relaxation seats equipped with ventilation and leg support. The new 2024 Carnival will also get a state-of-the-art 12-speaker Bose premium sound system, a 12.3-inch CCNC infotainment system, and a 12.3-inch digital cluster.

Powertrain Details

Powering the new 2024 Kia Carnival will be a 2.2-litre diesel engine that has already proven its reliability in the previous-generation model. This engine will deliver 191 bhp and 441 Nm of torque. It will come paired with an automatic transmission. Internationally, the Carnival is also offered with a 1.6-litre turbo petrol hybrid and a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine.

Kia Carnival Pricing and Rivals

In terms of pricing, it is believed that the 2024 Kia Carnival will be priced in the range of Rs 45 to 50 lakh. This pricing is a lot higher than the pricing at which the model was initially launched in India. Back in 2020, Kia launched the Carnival with a starting price of Rs 24.95 lakh, going all the way up to Rs 33.95 lakh.

It has been reported that initially Kia India is planning to bring the 2024 Carnival via the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route. Hence the price range is expected to be higher. However, when Kia receives enough orders it could start its local production. This could bring down the price significantly.

In terms of competition, the Kia Carnival sits in a market alone. However, its indirect rivals are the Toyota Innova Hycross. The hybrid MPV from Toyota starts at Rs 18.92 lakh and goes up to Rs 30.98 lakh. On the other hand, it also takes on the super luxurious and expensive Toyota Vellfire premium MPV in India, which starts at Rs 1.22 crore.

Kia Carnival’s Success in the Indian Market

The Kia Carnival has already made a name for itself in India. The previous-generation model sold over 14,500 units. Now, with all the updates that we know are coming, it will most likely continue its wave of success in India.
