In order to spice up the Tata Nexon EV lineup after the launch of the new MG Windsor EV, the company has launched the new Nexon EV Red Dark Edition. Like the Tata Safari and Harrier Red Edition models, the new Nexon EV Red Dark Edition also gets a lot of exterior and interior upgrades. This new edition comes with a blacked-out exterior and red accents both on the inside as well as on the outside. The new Red Edition Nexon is based on the top-of-the-line Empowered 45+ variant. It is priced at Rs. 17,49 lakh – Rs 20,000 above the standard Empowered 45+ variant. Apart from the Nexon EV Red Dark Edition, the Nexon EV with the 45 kWh battery comes available in four variants. These are namely Creative, Fearless, Empowered, and Empowered+. These variants start at Rs 13.99 lakh and go up to Rs 16.99 lakh.
Battery and Performance
Now coming to the battery pack details of the new Tata Nexon EV Red Dark Edition. It comes equipped with a 45+ kWh battery pack with prismatic cells (first introduced in the Tata Curvv.EV). According to the company, this battery pack offers a range of 489 km on a single full charge. However, the real-world range will be around 350 to 379 km on a single charge.
Tata Motors offers the Nexon EV with fast charging, which allows it to charge from 10-80% in just 40 minutes using a 60 kW charger. Also, in just 15 minutes, the EV can be charged for 130 km of range. The car also comes with V2L (Vehicle to Load) and V2V (Vehicle to Vehicle) charging technologies.
Tata Nexon EV Red Dark Edition: Exterior Design
Starting off with the exterior of the Nexon EV Red Edition, it comes with a blacked-out exterior and small red accents on the front and back. The company has also added Red Dark badging on the front fenders like its elder siblings, the Safari and Harrier Red Editions. Apart from these changes, the rest of the exterior remains the same as the standard Dark Edition Nexon EV.
Interior Design and Features
Moving on to the interior of the Nexon EV Red Dark Edition, it comes with a full red upholstery theme. It gets red seat covers with #dark badging on the headrests. It also gets a black dashboard for contrast. Another major highlight of the interior of the Nexon EV Red Dark Edition is the addition of a panoramic sunroof with voice control.
It also gets a frunk (front trunk) for additional storage. Apart from this, the Nexon Red Dark Edition comes equipped with the same dual digital screens. The infotainment screen is a 12.3-inch unit, while the digital instrument gauge cluster is a 10.25-inch screen.
The model also gets a 360-degree camera for ease and Connected car technology with smartphone integration. It also comes with the same touch-based HVAC control with rear AC vents. It also gets a full LED lighting package.
2024 Tata Nexon EV Red Dark Edition Pricing
As for the pricing, Tata Motors is offering the Nexon EV Red Dark Edition with the 45 kWh battery pack and Empowered+ variant only. This particular Red Dark Edition of the Nexon EV has been launched at Rs 17.19 lakh, which is Rs 20,000 more than the standard Empowered+ variant.
