The Japanese automaker Toyota Kirloskar Motor has finally launched the newest ninth generation of its popular hybrid sedan, the Camry. This new model has been launched with a price tag of Rs 48 lakh. 2024 Toyota Camry: Details
The all-new ninth-generation Camry has been introduced at Rs 48 lakh (ex-showroom). The previous generation model was priced at Rs 46.17 lakh. The company is only offering the Camry in one variant. As mentioned reservations for this new sedan have commenced and its deliveries will commence in January 2025.
Exterior Design – Front
First off, let’s talk about the front-end design of the new Camry. This time around, the company has given the Camry a much more modern and futuristic-looking fascia. It gets sleek LED headlights with C-shaped LED DRLs, which give it a smiling face-like structure. There is also a unique hexagonal grille with horizontal slats finished in body color, flanked by two air dams.
Side Profile
Moving on to the side profile, it continues to boast the same silhouette as the current generation model. However, it now features a brand-new set of 18-inch diamond-cut multi-spoke alloy wheels.
Rear
As for the rear-end design, the new Camry gets new wraparound LED taillights and a black piece on the boot with “Camry” lettering. Apart from this, there are twin-port exhaust tips on the left side of the new and more aggressive rear bumper. Overall, the design of the new Camry is much sharper and more aggressive than before.
Interior Design
Moving on to the interior of the new 2024 Camry, it now features a more complex design than before. There is a massive 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system that dominates the center of the dashboard. Additionally, there is a 10-inch digital instrument gauge cluster for the driver.
Other features of the new Camry include a wireless charger, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 9-speaker JBL audio system, multi-zone climate control, a single-pane sunroof, and ventilated seats. It also gets 10-way powered seats with controls in the rear.
In terms of safety features, it gets 9 airbags, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, and Toyota’s Safety Sense 3.0 ADAS Level 2 suite. Its list of features includes a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, radar-based cruise control, lane tracing assist road sign assist ,and auto high-beam.
2024 Toyota Camry – Powertrain
In terms of the powertrain, the new Camry comes equipped with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder petrol hybrid engine. It produces a maximum power of 230 bhp and 221 Nm of torque. As for the transmission, it comes with an eCVT gearbox. The new sedan also gets three driving modes namely – Sport, Eco, and Normal.
The all-new Camry will be brought to India via the CKD – Completely Knocked Down route and it will be competing with the soon-to-be-launched Skoda Superb in India. It also takes on the much more expensive rivals from the German brands like Audi, BMW and Mercedes Benz.
