As stated above, the most anticipated changes in the facelifted Skoda Kushaq will be the addition of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and a panoramic sunroof. Spy images have revealed sensors integrated into the air dam, indicating the presence of ADAS.

Most likely, the ADAS suite of the Skoda Kushaq will offer features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, and autonomous emergency braking. It could also offer traffic sign recognition, forward collision warning, and rear cross-traffic alert as well.

Another noteworthy addition could be the inclusion of a panoramic sunroof. This is a feature that is becoming highly sought after by buyers in the SUV segment in India. Presently, the current Kushaq model offers a regular electric sunroof. Its competitors, such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, offer a panoramic sunroof.

Exterior Design Changes

Apart from the main highlights stated above, the facelifted Kushaq will also get a refreshed exterior design. Although the camouflage managed to hide many details, it’s clear that Skoda has focused on modernizing the vehicle’s appearance, particularly at the front and rear.

The front grille is expected to get a more prominent and refined look. Along with it will most likely come an updated projector headlamp for a sleeker, more aggressive fascia. The Kushaq facelift will also get new front and rear bumpers.

The rear of the Kushaq could also see significant updates with a reworked tailgate design. Spy shots suggest that the overall silhouette will remain similar. A new set of alloy wheels is also expected to be offered in the India-spec model.

Interior Upgrades

Moving on to the interior, the new Skoda Kushaq facelift is expected to feature several upgrades. One of the key changes could be the introduction of new upholstery options. Ventilated seats are also likely to be part of the interior revamp.

Currently, the Kushaq already comes well-equipped with features like a fully digital color instrument cluster, a two-spoke steering wheel, auto-dimming IRVM, and a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system. These features are expected to be carried over to the facelifted version.

Powertrain Options

As for the powertrain side of things, the facelifted Skoda Kushaq is expected to carry forward the existing powertrain options. These include the 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engines. The smaller 1.0-litre engine will likely continue to offer around 115 bhp and 178 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the more powerful 1.5-litre engine will deliver 150 bhp and 250 Nm of torque.

Transmission options are expected to remain the same, with a six-speed manual gearbox, a six-speed torque converter automatic, and the seven-speed DSG. However, it remains unclear whether the manual gearbox will return for the 1.5-litre TSI version, as it was previously discontinued.

Skoda Kylaq Also in the Works

Apart from the facelifted Kushaq, the company is also preparing to launch its sub-compact SUV – Skoda Kylaq in India. This model is slated for an early 2025 launch. It will take the position as the brand’s entry-level model in India. Once launched, it will compete with the Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, and others.
