The Tata Nexon has been a hugely popular product in the Indian market. The compact SUV has achieved multiple sales milestones over the years and is available in turbocharged petrol, diesel, CNG and electric powertrains. The Nexon EV can further be had in two distinct forms- the standard range and Extended range. Tata Motors has now revealed details of the 2025 Nexon through its social media handles. The ex-showroom price now starts at Rs 7.99 lakh. Let’s now see what’s changed on the new Nexon.
To start with, the colour palette has been revised. The new Nexon gets 2 new colour options- Royal Blue and Grassland Beige. Introducing new colours to keep the vehicle fresh and selling, is something that we have seen Tata Motors do with the Tiago and Tigor facelifts as well.
Furthermore, three new variants have been introduced: Pure+, Creative+, and Creative+ PS. The customer thus gets more options to choose from. No major design changes can be noted. All variants come with 16-inch wheels. While the lower variants do with steel wheels, the higher ones get diamond-cut alloys.
The feature list has been refreshed. The new Nexon comes with voice-assisted panoramic sunroof, ventilated leatherette seats, a new 10.25-inch infotainment display and 9 JBL speakers with a subwoofer. The 7-speed DCA version will have e-shifter and paddle shifters.
2025 Tata Nexon: Engine Options
No changes have been made to the mechanical specifications of the new Nexon. The engine options continue to be a 1.2L turbocharged Revotron petrol and 1.5-litre turbocharged Revotorq diesel. The petrol engine produces 86.7 bhp at 5,500 rpm and 170 Nm of torque from 1,750-4,000 rpm, and the 1500 cc diesel on the other hand, makes 83.3 bhp at 3,750 rpm and 260 Nm of torque from 1,500 to 2,750 rpm.
The SUV is also available with a CNG powertrain. It is capable of generating 72.5 bhp at 5,000 rpm and 170 Nm of peak torque from 2,000-3,000 rpm. It comes with a 6-speed manual transmission alone.

More About The Nexon:
It is quite practical an SUV. In dimensions, it spans 3995 mm in length, 1804 mm in width and 1620 mm in height. The wheelbase stands at 2498 mm. Tata Nexon has a ground clearance of 208 mm. The boot capacity too is practical, at 382 litres. On the CNG version, the boot space is 321 litres. To make this happen, the CNG fuel is packed in two different cylinders, interconnected. This ensures better packaging efficiency and a usable boot.
The fuel tank capacity for both engines is the same- a good 44 litres. The Nexon iCNG can accommodate an additional 60 liters (9kg) of natural gas. It has an ARAI-rated fuel efficiency of 24 kilometres per kilogram- quite impressive for a car of this segment. The real-world figures could be lower.
Key Rivals
In the Indian context, various trims of the Nexon battles sub-4m SUVs like Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger. The electric version will also face competition from the upcoming Maruti eVitara and Hyundai Creta Electric in addition to the Mahindra XUV 400.
