These four cars are due for major updates and facelifts shortly. However, if you are adamant about buying a new car this festive season, make sure to ask for and secure hefty discounts and price cuts on these. The savings should be big enough to justify the decision to go for the pre-facelift models.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire
The first one on the list is Maruti Suzuki’s popular compact sedan- the Dzire. It is expected to get a major generational update soon. The 2024 models will feature a new design, better interiors and revised mechanicals. Various spy shots of the upcoming sedan have surfaced, revealing exciting details.
Going by the pictures, the new car’s design will include sleek headlamps, a completely fresh front fascia, a new grille with six horizontal slats, revised front and rear bumpers, LED DRLs, fog lights and tail lamps. The vehicle will likely feature 15-inch alloy wheels. The exterior design will see a departure from that of the new fourth-generation Maruti Swift, which it is based on.
The cabin will likely resemble that of the new Swift in design and layout- suggest spy pictures. Unlike the hatchback that uses an all-Black interior, the new Dzire will have a dual-tone (black and beige) finish. More details will be out closer to the market debut.
The feature list will also see a major revamp. The sedan will most likely get things like the same 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment screen as the Swift, sleek AC vents, automatic climate control, USB type-C and a type-A charging port, a flat-bottom wheel, a start/stop button, auto start/stop, and a 360-degree camera. As confirmed by the spy pictures, the new Dzire will also come with a single-pane sunroof.
On the mechanical front, the new Dzire will get the new 1.2L, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated Z series petrol engine (Z12E), as seen in the new Swift. It will be the first time that the sedan gets a three-cylinder mill.
With the launch of the 2024 Dzire around the corner, it is not advisable to buy the outgoing model this festive season. To keep sales stable, the carmaker is now offering interesting discounts and benefits on the car. As of September 2024, the Dzire offers savings of up to Rs 25,000 on the petrol manual and Rs 35,000 on the AMT variants.
Honda Amaze
Another key ‘no no’ buy these days is the Honda Amaze sedan. Set for an update sometime soon, the Amaze is already a slow seller. The new Amaze will be based on a tweaked Elevate platform with a shorter wheelbase. Expected to go against the upcoming generation of Dzire, the new Amaze will look different from the outgoing model. It is hoped to stand close to many global Honda cars in terms of design.
The cabin will undergo a complete makeover. Expect a fresh layout and better features like a larger free-standing infotainment system. The vehicle will share many of its interior components with other Honda models. The sedan will likely retain the current 1.2-liter, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine. Both manual and CVT transmissions will be offered.
Expect the launch to happen in the second half of 2024. Honda has announced discounts and benefits of up to 1.12 lakh on the E, S, VX and Elite variants. This includes cash discounts, exchange bonuses and corporate schemes. If you are certain about buying the outgoing car, make sure to get these offers availed.
Nissan Magnite
The Magnite is probably the best-selling Nissan car in India. It is expected to get a major facelift in 2024. While mechanical changes are unlikely, the SUV could get major restyling and a better cabin with more features and tech. The upcoming vehicle will likely get a more mature design. Expect new headlamps, new front grille, new front & rear bumpers, new tail lamps & new design for the alloy wheels.
On the inside, the new Magnite will get a cleaner design and more features. Auto-dimming IRVM, 6-airbags, paddle shifters, and even a single-pane sunroof are expected. A price premium of 30,000- 70,000 is expected over the current model. Probably an attempt to clear their stock, Nissan is now offering discounts of up to 1.25 lakh on select variants of the SUV. The higher variants are offered with higher exchange bonuses.
Mahindra XUV 400
Mahindra is expected to launch a facelift of the XUV 400 EV, based on the recently launched XUV 3XO. The new EV will borrow design cues from the 3XO. Expect a new grille, better-looking headlamps, refreshed bumpers and new wheels. The cabin is likely to get an overhaul and could look more upmarket. Powertrain changes are unlikely.
Mahindra currently offers savings of up to 2.75 lakh on the XUV 400 Pro variants while the non-pro gets lesser cuts. Additional exchange bonuses apply as well.
Summing it up, if you are in the market for a new car this festive season, keep these vehicles and their upcoming facelifts in mind, and plan your purchase accordingly…
