Renault India seems to have promising launch plans for 2025. The French automaker currently sells the Kwid, Kiger, and Triber in India. It will launch both facelifts of existing models and introduce all-new vehicles as well. Here are four new Renault cars and SUVs lined up for India launch.
Renault Triber Facelift (H1, 2025)
The Triber is an affordable MPV that packs decent value for its price and slots in as a budget people mover. It is expected to get a notable facelift in the first half of 2025. The facelift will feature a sharper styling, inspired by Renault’s global models. It is said that the new Triber will depart from the current model’s Kwid-like design and look more upmarket and serious.
The upcoming Triber could also come with Renault’s new logo/ brand identity- which is yet to make its India debut. On the inside, the new MPV will have a reworked dashboard, lighter cabin colours and more upmarket and soft-touch materials used. It could resemble the new Nissan Magnite to some extent.
The changes on the new Triber will most likely be cosmetic. The upcoming Triber will also continue with the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol. A turbocharged petrol engine remains a distant possibility.
Kiger Facelift (H2, 2025)
The Ki ger is Renault’s flagship SUV. It is stylish and comes packed with features and has an upmarket cabin. This sub-4m SUV is expected to get a facelift in the second half of 2025. It will likely retain its competitive edge in pricing and equipment list with the facelift as well. The carmaker is expected to add more features to the facelifted SUV. It is expected to be an improvement over the 2024 Kiger.
New 3rd Generation Duster (H1, 2026)
A highly anticipated launch from Renault India is the new third-generation Duster SUV. The carmaker will likely launch it in the first half of 2026. The third-gen had made its global premiere last year and was previously spotted testing in India as well. The news has it that the new Duster will be available in both 5-seater and 7-seater forms. It will stand close to the Bigster in terms of design and dimensions.
Key design cues include muscular body panels, LED lighting, 17-inch wheels, an edgy rear end, and chunky wheel arches. The cabin will have an upmarket, all-new design and will come packed with features. It will have a 10.1-inch infotainment system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and even ADAS.
No confirmed details are out yet, regarding the powertrains of the upcoming Duster. Globally, the vehicle offers multiple powertrain choices- duel fuel (petrol+ LPG), strong hybrid and mild hybrid. In India, however, it will most likely be a petrol-only model. The India-spec could also come with mild hybrid tech.
Kiger EV (H2, 2026)
A previous presentation on Renault India’s future road map showed the brand to come up with a pure-electric vehicle ( an electric SUV) by the second half of 2026. Renault India’s first EV will be based on the Kiger. The Kiger EV was previously spied testing in India. The spied prototype looked almost production-ready.
Key differentiating factors from the petrol counterpart are the closed-off EV grille, front-mounted EV charging port, and numerous body-coloured inserts at various places on the bodywork. The vehicle could also come with different wheels and EV-spec tyres. The rear bumper of the prototype had changes as well. The interior could have a similar design as the ICE vehicle. More details on this EV are yet to be out.
