6 New Car Launches in May 2024: Complete Details Revealed

The upcoming month of May will be filled with the launches of a few exciting vehicles. Now if you are looking to buy a new car next month then this list is what will help you a lot. Here are the details of the 6 new cars that are scheduled for launch next month.
Scheduled for launch on May 8, Kia will be finally taking the covers off the Carens facelift. One interesting thing about this new Kia Carens facelift will be that it will be sold alongside the already on sale model. This new model will get a new suffix. In terms of changes, this new model will come equipped with redesigned front and rear LED headlights and taillights. Slimmer front grille, revises bumpers and new alloy wheels.
On the inside, the new Carens facelift is expected to get connected 10.25-inch screens, 360 degree camera, ADAS level 2, panoramic sunroof and others. As for the engine options they will remain the same. The model will continue to get - 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre turbo diesel. Price is expected to exceed Rs 20 lakh.
Tata Motors has recently been testing the Altroz facelift on public roads. Most likely the launch will take place next month and this time around the Altroz will get a significant upgrade. The new 2025 model is expected to get revised grille, front bumper, headlights and vertically stacked fog lights. Taillights will also be tweaked.
Regarding the changes on the interior, it is believed that the Altroz facelift will come with a larger touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument gauge cluster, two spoke steering wheel with illuminated Tata logo, new centre console and touch based HVAC controls. The powertrain options of 1.2-litre NA petrol, 1.2-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre diesel along with iCNG option will be retained.
JSW MG has been riding high on the success of the Windsor EV. Now it has been reported that the company will be launching a new version of this electric vehicle with a larger 50.6 kWh battery pack. This new model is expected to offer a claimed range of 460 km which is a significant bump over the 332 km claimed range of the current model that gets a 38 kWh battery pack.
Power output of this model is expected to be the same at 134 bhp and 200 Nm of torque. It is believed that this new larger battery pack variant could get ADAS level 2 as well. As for the pricing expect to see an increase over the current pricing of Rs 14-16 lakh.
Along with the launch of the Windsor EV 50.6 kWh variant, the company is gearing up to the launch of its electric sports car the Cyberster EV in India. This new model is expected to be launched at Rs 60 lakh. Once launched it will become the most affordable electric sports convertible car on sale in India.
The MG Cyberster EV will come with a 77 kWh battery pack offering a range of 580 km. As for the motor setup, it will be getting a dual motor AWD system which will make 509 bhp and 725 Nm of torque. It will also get 20-inch alloy wheels, black and red leather interior, 7-inch digital instrument gauge, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a ton of other features.
Another new launch from MG will be the Majestor full size premium SUV which will be taking on the mighty Toyota Fortuner. This new model will sit about the Gloster and will boast a larger grille, vertically stacked LED headlights, connected LED taillights and dual exhausts. Other features of the Majestor will include new dashboard layout and 12.3-inch infotainment system.
Apart from this the new SUV will get powered and ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, 360 degree camera and Level 2 ADAS. The Majestor will come equipped with a 2.9-litre four-cylinder twin-turbo diesel engine generating 216 bhp and 479 Nm of peak torque.
MG will also be launching the MiFa 9 or MG 9 in India next month and it will be exclusively sold through MG Select - company's new premium dealership arm. This 7-seater luxury electric MPV aims to rival the Kia Carnival and the Toyota Vellfire in India. It will come with captain seats with ottomans, massage, recline, ventilation and heating features.
Other features will include dual sunroofs, rear entertainment screens, tri-zone climate control and others. As for the powertrain it is expected to get a 90 kWh battery pack offering it a range of 500+ km. Pricing will be around Rs 75-85 lakh.
