Snakes are cold-blooded animals, which means they require warm places to keep themselves cozy. For this very reason, these natural predators often find their way into the hot engine bays of cars and bikes. Most recently, another incident of a snake getting into the engine bay of a Maruti Suzuki Swift has been shared online. In this short video, a super-aggressive baby python was seen being rescued from the engine bay of the Swift.
Aggressive python inside a Swift’s engine bay
This video of a baby python hiding inside a Swift’s engine bay has been shared on YouTube. It comes courtesy of Razak Shah Snake Rescuer. It starts off with the snake rescuer and his partner standing in front of a white Maruti Suzuki Swift hatchback. We can note that the bonnet of this hatchback was open, and the person was giving a brief of the situation.
He explains that there is a baby python snake, which can be seen sitting just ahead of the engine in the crevice. We can also see that the snake’s face was towards the camera. Soon after showing this, the rescuer, wearing a thick rubber glove to protect from snake bites, puts his hand inside the engine bay to catch the snake.
What happens next?
Soon after this, we can see that the snake starts moving. The rescuer then tries to make his hand look like bait to the snake in order to make it attack and then catch it. In the video, the snake can be seen curling up and getting into its attacking stance. In the next moment, after focusing, the rescuer catches the head of the snake.
It can be seen that the teeth of the snake were getting on the glove of the man. However, despite this, the person manages to catch it and bring it out of the engine bay. After this, he puts the snake on the ground, and it can be seen that the snake was very active.
The rescuer mentions that this young python is very aggressive. However, due to its smaller size and lack of venom, the rescuer was able to easily catch this snake and put it inside a bag. Following this, they take the snake to a jungle where they release this young python into the wild.
Not the first such incident
This is not the first time a snake has been found inside the engine bay of a car. On the contrary, this happens quite often. Just a few days ago, we shared a video where a massive King Cobra was found inside the engine bay of a Datsun Go hatchback. The video showed how a group of rescuers managed to safely rescue this dangerous snake.
In the video, the snake was seen sitting on top of the engine. The rescuers first tied a rope to the bonnet, and it was then lifted with the help of this rope. Following this, one of the rescuers carefully grabbed the snake with the help of a metal rod and then placed it on the ground. It was then guided to enter a sack and was taken to the jungle for release.
Why do snakes enter engine bays?
As mentioned earlier, snakes are cold-blooded animals. So, when the weather turns cold due to rain or winter, these reptiles seek warmth to survive. Generally, these incidents take place at homes near jungles or where there are more trees.
What happens is, after the vehicles are parked, their engine bays and wheel wells remain very warm. Due to this, snakes find their way inside these places. In most cases, these reptiles get spotted and then are rescued.
