However, recently, a video of a crashed brand-new Dzire has been shared online, proving that the new Dzire is indeed a 5-star safety-rated sedan.

Brand-new Maruti Suzuki Dzire accident
This particular video, showing the aftermath of a horrific accident involving a brand-new Dzire, has been shared on Reddit. It starts with the person behind the camera mentioning that this particular car shows how strong the Dzire is. In the short clip, the person shows the cabin of the car, where only two front airbags were deployed.
Following this, he then shows the rear of this particular Dzire. We can observe that the entire rear decklid has been crushed, making the vehicle even more compact. The majority of the damage in the rear is on the right side, and the rear windshield is also completely destroyed. After this, the person shows the left-side profile of the car as well.
It can be noted that the doors are intact, but the front left wheel rim has been destroyed along with the tyre. Soon after this, the cameraman shows the front left of the car, which has also been crushed. The entire front bumper, both headlights, and the grille have been wrecked.
Cabin completely intact
After giving the exterior walkaround, the cameraman zooms inside the cabin of this Dzire. He states that even though both the front and rear of this vehicle have been destroyed, the entire cabin of this vehicle is still intact. He also added that all of the passengers who were inside during the time of this accident are safe.
Why did only two front airbags get deployed?
The cameraman in the video can be heard asking viewers why only the front two airbags were deployed. He questioned this because the new fourth-generation Dzire comes with six airbags. All of them should have been deployed, as the accident was extremely horrific.
Well, the answer to this question is that airbags use very complex impact sensors that decide the deployment of airbags. Since this particular Dzire did not suffer any side impacts, the curtain and side airbags did not get triggered. This particular incident does not prove that only two airbags were working on this car.
2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Five-star safety rating
The all-new 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire, as mentioned, managed to score 31.24 points out of 34 total points in the adult occupant protection test. On the other hand, it scored 39.20 points out of 42 points in child occupant protection tests.
Additionally, the crash test report from Global NCAP also highlighted that the new Dzire has a stable body shell. This upcoming sub-compact sedan also boasts a stable footwell area. For those who may not be aware, the new fourth-generation Dzire is the first-ever Maruti Suzuki model to receive a five-star safety rating from Global NCAP.
In terms of safety features, the new Dzire comes equipped with six airbags, a 360-degree camera, ABS with EBD, an electronic stability program, rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX, along with many others. The new Dzire starts at Rs 6.79 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 10.14 lakh.
