Heavily modified 6 wheeled Willys Jeep in India: Closer Look On Video

Modified classic Willys Jeeps are some of the most popular cars in India. A lot of enthusiasts love to take old Willys Jeeps and restore and customize them according to their taste. And when it comes to these modified off-road vehicles, the state of Punjab has a ton of shops that create these vehicles. Recently, a video of what is India’s one of the very few 6X6 vehicles has been shared online. This old Willys Jeep has a total of 6 wheels and an engine from Toyota with an automatic transmission and all-time 4×4 capability.

Modified Jeeps

The video of this Jeep 6X6 has been shared on YouTube by Dayakaran Vlogs on their channel. The video starts off with the presenter showing 5 Jeeps lined up. Each of these Jeeps was designed differently with different modifications as per the clients’ requests. The vlogger shows each of these Jeeps in detail and mentions all of the modifications done to them. After showing all four Jeeps, he moves to the last and most unique one.

The presenter then asks the owner of the shop that has customized all of these Jeeps about the Jeep 6X6. To this, the owner of the shop replies that this is a custom-built Willys Jeep which will be exported to Canada for the owner.

The vlogger then first shows the side profile of the vehicle. In this shot, the 6 wheels of the vehicle can be seen. After this, he provides a detailed walkaround of this 6X6 Jeep and asks questions about it to the owner.

First off, he starts at the front end of the vehicle and mentions that it gets the similar-looking front as the other four Jeeps. However, there are a few changes. He states that the vehicle has been given a different custom metal front bumper, a unique design for its aftermarket LED headlights, and a Desert Sandstorm color shade finished in matte finish.

Powertrain

After this, he asks the owner about the powertrain of the vehicle. To this, he replies that this vehicle has been given a Toyota 3.0-litre inline 6-cylinder engine swap. The exact power figures were not revealed by the owner of the shop.

However, these engines make anywhere between 160-400 bhp of power and 360 to 430 Nm of torque. He adds that they have also given the vehicle an automatic transmission as well.

Following this, the presenter asks if the owner of the last set of wheels is also connected or not. To this, he reveals that the last set is disconnected. However, apart from them, all four wheels are connected, and the vehicle is full-time 4X4.

The vlogger also asks if a client requests it to be connected, could they do it. The owner then replied that it is a complicated process, and they will have to import the parts from international markets to do this, which becomes very cost-intensive. Hence they do not recommend it.

Lastly, the presenter shows the interior of the vehicle. He shows the fully custom upholstered tan leather interior. He adds that it gets custom second and third-row seats. Lastly, he mentions that it also gets custom-fabricated roll bars and a soft-top roof. Apart from this, on the outside, the vehicle gets massive 33-inch MT tires with aftermarket alloy wheels.
