Honda Amaze Selling At 2 Lakh Discount: Here’s Why

Get up to 2 lakh rupees off on the second generation Honda Amaze. Here is everything to know about this deal and more.

It was recently that Honda Cars India launched the third generation Amaze in the country. The previous generation that was already on sale here, wasn’t however, discontinued. As 2024 comes to a close, carmakers are offering attractive discounts and benefits on various models and Honda is no exception. It has announced up to 2 lakh rupees off on the Amaze and it isn’t what you think it is! This massive price cut applies only to the unsold units of the previous generation Amaze. It could thus vary slightly between cities and with stock availability.

Yes, you will be putting your money on an older generation, previous model year car. This will have an impact on its resale value in the future. But hey, you are saving a sum of 2 lakh on this compromise. This could make sense to many of you who are in desperate search of value in your buys. By offering these huge cuts, Honda is trying to clear their stock inventory. The Amaze hasn’t been a hot seller recently and thus finding an unsold unit wouldn’t be tough if you are to grab the deal.

The top-spec VX variant gets a price cut of 1.12 lakh rupees, along with other benefits that take the total savings to 2 lakh. You can save Rs 62,000 on the E variant and up to 72,000 on the S trim. The compact sedan has its ex-showroom price in the range of 7.20 – 9.96 lakh.

How Big Are The Compromises?

Let’s now take a look at the upgrades and changes that you would miss if you were to grab the deal and take home a second-generation Amaze. The compromises would mostly be in design and equipment offered. The two cars are extremely different in terms of design. The third generation looks more modern, stylish and upmarket. The second-gen on the other hand, shows its age. While the new car gets LED pod headlamps, the second-gen does with projector headlamps.

On the inside, the new Amaze gets a completely reworked cabin, more space and more features. Since the generational upgrade increased its size, the new car has more room on the inside. It also comes with a free-standing 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 6-speaker surround sound system, Elevate-like automatic climate control buttons, rear AC vents, wireless charger, PM 2.5 filter, connected car tech and a new multifunction steering wheel that comes straight from the City. The sedan also gets an ADAS suite with 28+ safety features.

This mill is capable of producing 90hp and 110 Nm. Both a 5-speed manual and CVT transmissions are offered. The automatic variant gets paddle shifters as well. Honda says that the suspension has been improved as well. The vehicle also gets India-friendly ground clearance and turning radius.

The Old Dzire Is Still on Sale!

The prime competition to the Amaze is from the recently launched fourth-generation Maruti Dzire. With an impressive design, spacious cabin, a lot of equipment and top-notch crash safety, the Dzire packs enough to put up a strong fight against the Amaze and more importantly, to breathe life into the compact sedan segment.

Maruti Suzuki is selling the third generation Dzire alongside the fourth these days, and has announced that the previous car will continue to be on sale throughout December. It is only in 2025 that the old Dzire would face the axe.
