Honda Cars India is preparing to announce the official launch of the Honda Elevate Black Edition. The special edition SUV was previously spied on test, and details of it had surfaced as well. Now the Black edition Elevate has started reaching dealerships. Exclusive pictures shared by Zigwheels show the Elevate Black edition in detail.
The Black Edition brings several visual updates to the standard Elevate. Most importantly, it debuts the Black colourway on the SUV as the Elevate has never been offered in Black. The new colour renders an air of boldness to the vehicle, and complements its lines and surfaces very well. Numerous Black Edition badges can also be seen on the car.
To make it look better, Honda has given special Silver garnishes on the door that strike contrast with the rest of the bodywork. Similar Silver accents can also be seen on the front and rear bumpers and roof rails. The alloy wheels are finished in Black and there is a prominent Chrome strip on the front grille. These exterior highlights give the Elevate a unique, sophisticated appeal.
An abundance of Black can be seen in the interior as well. The cabin of the special edition Elevate comes with an all-Black theme. The silver accents on the dashboard and steering wheel of the standard car have been replaced with gloss Black finishes. Seats wear Black. The cabin layout and features remain identical to those of the standard car.
The feature list on a loaded Elevate Black Edition includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a semi-digital instrument cluster with a 7-inch display, wireless charging, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, eight speakers, leatherette upholstery, an electric sunroof, and paddle shifters. On the safety front, it comes equipped with advanced features such as a lane watch camera, electronic stability control (ESC), ADAS, hill hold assist, ABS with EBD, brake assist, and six airbags.
Under the hood, the Elevate Black Edition is expected to feature the same 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. It will likely deliver 121PS and 145Nm of torque and will come paired with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic transmission. However, we await confirmation from the brand on the actual specifications of the Black edition.
The Elevate’s iVTec petrol engine is much loved for its refinement levels and torquey nature. It is the same engine that has been powering the Honda City. The suspension on this SUV also deserve appreciation. It feels so comfortable to ride and drive around in, and isn’t a boat around corners. The same traits are expected to be kept intact on the Black edition as well. In other words, this special edition will more or less be a cosmetic upgrade over the standard car, specifically created for those who prefer to have their car in Black or a menacing dark shade.
When launched in the Indian market, the Elevate Black Edition will compete with the likes of Hyundai Creta Knight Edition, MG Astor BlackStorm and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Black Series. It will likely have a slight price premium over the standard car. The regular Honda Elevate has its ex-showroom prices in the range of 11.69 lakh to 16.71 lakh. The Black edition will mostly command a premium over this.
