Honda recently rejigged the variant lineup of the Elevate SUV by adding more safety equipment to the lower variants. There are four trims to the Elevate- SV, V, VX, and ZX. All these now get a host of safety features as standard. The revamped variants have now started reaching dealerships in many cities. A couple of creature comforts and features have also been added to these trims.

Three new safety features are now standard across variants. These are six airbags, seat belt reminders and 3-point seat belts for all seats (with Emergency Locking Retractors). ADAS features remain limited to the higher variants alone. Besides these, vanity mirror lids have been added for the driver and co-driver. All variants now come with vanity mirrors.
There is also a 7-inch HD full-colour TFT driver display on the SV and V variants. On the V, VX and ZX variants, the AC vents and temperature control knobs now get Silver finish. The Elevate VX also gets an 8-speaker premium sound system and a rear sunshade.
Other notable feature additions on (some of the) lower variants are 5 headrests, automatic AC, pushbutton start, keyless entry, steering-mounted controls etc. The SV and V variants now get 16-inch steel wheels and 6-speed manual transmission. The Elevate lineup has also had a proportional revision in price. The new ex-showroom price begins at 11.91 lakh and goes up to 16.43 lakh for the range-topping ZX variant. This is 21,000- 28,000 rupees more expensive than before.
Powertrain Specifications
Honda Elevate comes with just a single powertrain option- the 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine borrowed from the City sedan. A 6-speed manual and CVT automatic transmissions are available. This time-tested engine produces 121 PS and 143 Nm. It continues to miss out on torquier powertrain options like turbo petrol or diesel.
Design
At 220mm, the Elevate has the best-in-segment ground clearance. The boot capacity is also a class-leading 458L. It offers a good road presence and has a boxy design. The front end features a large black rectangular grille with chrome details and LED headlamps. It also has fog lights on either side of the bumper that also gets a silver skid plate. The SUV comes with 17-inch alloy wheels and LED tail lamps.
On the inside, the SUV gets features like a free-standing 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, climate control, wireless charger, keyless access, a semi-digital instrument cluster with a customizable display, single pane sunroof, level-2 ADAS etc on the top-spec variant.
It, however, misses out on several features offered by some of its rivals- like a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, full digital console, seat ventilation, front parking sensors and rain-sensing wipers. In the Indian market, key rivals to the Elevate are the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta and Kushaq/Taigun.
Elevate Is The New WRV!
The ‘Made in India’ Honda Elevate has been introduced in Japan as the new WR-V. Honda has been exporting it from India to countries with both left-hand and right-hand drives, like Turkey, Mexico, Nepal, Japan and South Africa.
