Hyundai is India’s second largest car manufacturer and in the last couple of years, Hyundai has also started working on electric vehicles. They launched the Creta Electric this year and it has been doing decent numbers since then. It looks like Hyundai is planning to launch another electric SUV in the market as a mystery test vehicle was spotted testing on Indian roads recently. It is possible that Hyundai is planning to launch a 7-seater SUV or the Alcazar Electric SUV in the market.

The images have been shared by Gaadiwaadi on their website. We are calling it a Hyundai test mule and not Kia Carens EV because, the Carens EV that we have spotted before came with Andhra Pradesh registration plates.

This was because, Kia has a manufacturing facility in Anantpur, Andhra Pradesh. However, the EV seen here in the image gets a Tamil Nadu registration. Hyundai has their manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu that is why our guess is that it is likely to be a Hyundai.

The test mule was spotted at a charging station in Tamil Nadu. The EV is fully covered and we only get a glimpse of the charging port and the front bumper of the EV. The alloy wheels on the test mule look different. In fact they do not look like they are from a Hyundai. They might have borrowed the wheels from a Kia for testing.

The vehicle is fully camouflaged and even the bumper of the EV gets covering. The charging port of the EV is at the front and that looks similar to what we have seen in the Creta Electric. It also looks like Hyundai is offering the Active flaps on the front bumper which we first saw in the Creta electric.

The SUV looks bigger than Creta and it is possible that this is the electric version of their 7-seater SUV Alcazar. The front bumper gets an upright design which looks similar to the Alcazar. Alcazar is a popular 7-seater SUV based on Creta which is currently the highest selling SUV in its segment.

As the SUV is fully covered, we cannot figure out if it is actually an Alcazar Electric or not. If it is going to be the Alcazar EV, then we are expecting it to get a design inspired from the current ICE version.

It will come with a connecting LED bar at the front that connects LED DRLs. the split headlamp setup will have LED lights, the rear would also ger LED tail lamps, connecting bars and an integrated spoiler on the roof.

The EV would offer premium features like electrically adjustable seats at the front, seat ventilation feature along with captain seats and bench seat option for rear seat passengers.

The EV would offer leatherette upholstery, large panoramic sunroof, level 2 ADAS, 360 degree camera, drive modes, large 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system, fully digital instrument cluster and so on.

Mechanically, Hyundai Alcazar EV is likely to be powered by the same battery option as the Creta Electric. Creta Electric comes with 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery pack options.

Hyundai might offer a slightly bigger option to improve the overall driving range of this 7-seater EV. Hyundai launched the Creta Electric this year an we hope to get more information about this all-new Hyundai electric SUV in the coming weeks or months.
