Hyundai Motor India Ltd has been teasing us with videos and images of the upcoming EV Creta Electric for the last couple of weeks. The South Korean car manufacturer has now released a new video in which the interior of their upcoming much awaited electric SUV Creta Electric has been revealed.
Speaking about the Hyundai CRETA Electric, Mr. Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai Motor India Limited, said, “As we gear-up to introduce the Hyundai CRETA Electric at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, I am delighted to share that every aspect of the vehicle’s interior has been crafted keeping in mind the comfort and convenience of the driver and the passengers. From superior space to ergonomical design, every detail has been meticulously planned to offer customers a futuristic drive experience. The Hyundai CRETA Electric sets a new standard in interior space and design for electric SUVs in India and I am confident it will redefine the success of EVs in our country.”
In the video we get a glimpse of what Hyundai will be offering in the upcoming EV. The Creta Electric will get a dual-tone interior. It will be finished in Granite Gray with Dark Navy interior color theme. Along with that the SUV will also get ocean blue surround ambient lighting on the console which goves well with the overall theme.
Another attraction on the Hyundai Creta Electric is its center console. As this is an electric vehicle, it doesn’t need a gear lever like an ICE vehicle. We know from the previous videos that the car gets a stalk type gear lever which placed behind the steering wheel. This leaves a lot of area vacant in the center console. So, Hyundai decided to redesign this bit and made it into a floating console.
This makes the cabin look extremely spacious and we also see smart open storage space on the lower part of the floating console. Just like any Hyundai, the Creta Electric will also get the large 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system and a similar sized fully digital instrument cluster. Hyundai calls it dual curvilinear display.
The steering wheel on the Creta Electric is different from the ICE version. It gets a unique three-spoke steering wheel with morse code detailing on it. The climate control buttons placed below the infotainment system are all touch sensitive and it gets a dual-zone climate contrrol unit.
Hyundai offers 2610 mm wheelbase with the Creta electric. This along with flat floor offers a extremely spacious cabin for both driver and occupants. It offers ample legroom, knee room, head room, shoulder to the rear seat passengers. The Creta electric gets straight roofline which some of the rivals like Tata and Mahindra are not offering. This makes ingress and egress smoother.
The seats on the Creta electric are from sustainable materials including recycled plastic bottles for fabric, and corn extract. It also gets the Creta Electric branding on the seat. The front seats are electrically adjustable and the driver seat even gets memory function for added convenience. The boss mode feature where the co-driver seat can be electrically adjusted by the rear passenger can be seen in the Creta Electric.
Hyundai is also offering a large boot with the Creta Electric. The electric SUV gets 22 litres of space in the frunk and 433 litres in the rear. The official launch of the Creta Electric will happen on the 17 January, 2025. A detailed first drive review of the Hyundai Creta Electric will be live on our website in the coming weeks.
