Hyundai Motor India has recently unveiled the highly anticipated Creta Electric in India. This SUV’s official launch will take place at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo. At the same event, Mahindra Automotive will also reveal the complete pricing details of its very own electric SUV, the BE 6. Now, as both of these SUVs will be competing with each other directly, we thought we should bring to you a spec comparo. So, here is a detailed comparison of the specifications of these two electric SUVs.
Hyundai Creta Electric vs Mahindra BE 6
Exterior Design
First off, let’s talk about the exterior designs of the two SUVs. On one hand, the Hyundai Creta Electric is based on the already-on-sale ICE Creta. The Mahindra BE 6, however, has been designed from the ground up. The Creta EV gets connected LED DRLs and the same headlights as the normal Creta. It also comes with a blanked-off waffle pattern grille and active aero flaps on the lower portion of the bumper.
However, the Mahindra BE 6 is a whole other animal. It comes equipped with C-shaped LED DRLs, nearly hidden LED headlights, a unique bonnet with an aero scoop, and gloss black accents. Coming to the side profile, the Creta Electric gets aeroblade-style alloy wheels; however, their size is unknown. The BE 6, on the other hand, comes with 19-inch alloy wheels and optional 21-inch wheels as well.
Both cars at the rear get connected LED taillights, but the BE 6 gets a sloping roofline, while the Creta Electric gets the standard SUV-style rear end. Overall, the Hyundai Creta looks simple and classy. Meanwhile, the Mahindra BE 6 looks like something that has come directly from the future. It looks like a concept car; however, it is an actual production car.
Interior Design
Coming to the interior design, the Creta once again gets the same interior as the ICE model, with its connected 10.25-inch screens, panoramic sunroof, and a simple center console, which comes with automatic climate control, a drive selector behind the steering wheel, and a rotary knob for driving mode select.
The Mahindra BE 6, on the other hand, comes with a fighter jet’s cockpit-like cabin. It gets a halo in the middle and two floating connected screens. The BE 6 also gets an aircraft-inspired gear lever and pull-tab-type door handles. Other features include VisionX augmented reality, ambient lighting on the skyroof, a 14-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos, and many others.
Powertrain
In terms of the powertrain, the details of the Hyundai Creta Electric’s drivetrain have not been revealed. However, what we do know is that the SUV is being offered with a 51.4 kWh battery pack, which will provide a range of 473 km on a single full charge. It will also be able to do a sprint of 0–100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds.
The Mahindra BE 6, on the other hand, will come equipped with an electric motor that will make 282 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. Also, all of this power will be sent to the rear wheels. As for battery pack options, it will come with 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery packs, offering ranges of 535 km and 682 km on single full charges.
The Mahindra BE 6 offers a far superior powertrain compared to the Hyundai Creta Electric. Also, its base variant’s battery pack is larger than that of the Hyundai Creta Electric.
Pricing
At the moment, it has been reported that the Hyundai Creta Electric could be launched with a price tag of Rs 20 lakh. The Mahindra BE 6, on the other hand, will start at Rs 18.9 lakh. In terms of value for money, the Mahindra BE 6 will easily beat the Creta Electric. As stated, both models will be launched at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo.
