Hyundai Motor India, in order to keep the sales momentum high in India, has recently launched a few new variants of its popular cars. These include the sub-compact SUV Venue, mid-size sedan Verna, and the popular hatchback Grand i10 NIOS. These updates come after it was announced that Hyundai has managed to achieve its highest-ever yearly domestic sales of 6,05,433 units. It has also been reported that the company has sold 1,86,919 units of the super-popular mid-size SUV Creta in India, which makes up 67.6 percent of its total domestic sales.

The first model to get a new variant is the Hyundai Venue. This popular sub-compact SUV now gets a new variant called the 1.2 MPi SX Executive MT. As part of the upgrades, this variant gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also gets an electric sunroof. Other features of this variant include a rear camera, wireless charger, and smart keys.

Powering this variant is the time-tested 1.2-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. This motor is capable of producing 82 bhp of power and 114 Nm of torque. It will be offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox and offers a mileage of 17.5 kmpl. As for the pricing, this variant has been launched with a price tag of Rs 9.28 lakh.

Apart from the Venue, the popular mid-size sedan Verna also gets two new variants. The first is the 1.5-litre Turbo GDi petrol S(O) DCT variant, and the other is the 1.5-litre MPi petrol S(O) IVT variant. These new variants offer features such as a smart electric sunroof, wireless smartphone charging, and paddle shifters. Also, the existing S MT variant now gets an electric sunroof.

Pricing for these variants starts at Rs 12.37 lakh. The Hyundai Verna is offered with two petrol engine options. The first is the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine, which makes 113 bhp and 143 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the other is the more powerful 1.5-litre turbo engine, which makes 158 bhp and 253 Nm of torque.

Lastly, Hyundai Motor India has also launched the Grand i10 NIOS’ new 1.2L Kappa petrol Sports(O) variant. This particular variant is being offered with a manual as well as an automatic gearbox. Its price starts at Rs 7.72 lakh. This vehicle comes powered by a 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine, which produces 82 bhp and 114 Nm of torque.

Hyundai Creta Electric to Be Launched Soon

Apart from these models, Hyundai is gearing up for the launch of its first mass-market electric SUV, the Creta Electric, in India. This new model will be the brand’s first electric car that will be locally produced and will take on the Maruti Suzuki eVitara, Mahindra BE 6, and Tata Harrier EV in India.

It will be launched at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo on 17th January. This new model will be offered with two battery pack options. The smaller one will be a 42 kWh unit offering 390 km of range and will come with a 135 PS electric motor. Meanwhile, the other option will be a 51.4 kWh battery pack with 473 km of range and an electric motor making 171 PS. It is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 20–25 lakh.
