Kia Carens Clavis Fully Revealed Ahead Of Official Launch Tomorrow

Kia has been working on their new premium 3-row MPV, or RV as they like to call it, since last year. They recently revealed that the upcoming MPV will be called Carens Clavis. The official launch of the Clavis will happen tomorrow. However, we've managed to lay our hands on images and feature list of the Carens Clavis even before it's officially revealed.
The images show the upcoming Carens Clavis, revealing key details about the upcoming MPV - except pricing.
We’ll start with the design first. As expected, Kia has gone for a sharp and edgy design, which looks more SUV-like than the regular Carens. At the front, we see the modern-day Kia grille, which they like to call the Kia Digital Tiger Face. It gets an L-shaped LED DRL, which is a dual-function unit. Kia calls it Star Map LED DRLs with integrated turn indicators. The headlamps on the Carens Clavis feature a triple ice cube design, which is a multi-function reflector LED unit.
The front bumper of the MPV gets a silver-coloured faux skid plate, while the bumper itself looks muscular. There is thick cladding that runs around the wheel arches and the lower part of the vehicle. The side profile of the MPV looks similar to the regular Carens. The highlight here is the 17-inch crystal-cut dual-tone alloy wheels. As we move to the rear, the car gets all-LED tail lamps with a connecting LED bar. The rear bumper design is also different from the regular Carens.
Kia is aiming to offer a premium experience to the customer. The cabin looks premium with the ivory-coloured upholstery on the seats and door trims. The steering wheel on the Carens Clavis also looks similar to the unit seen on the Seltos (likely meant instead of "Syros"). When it comes to features, Kia is offering a panoramic sunroof, 26.62-inch dual panoramic display panel which includes a fully digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system.
The Carens Clavis also gets infotainment and temperature swap switches on the centre console, 4-way electrically adjustable driver seat, ventilated front seats, connected car features, integrated smart air purifier, 6 airbags, disc brakes on all four wheels, ESC, HAC, VSM, DBC, ABS, and BAS, among other safety features. As usual, Kia will also be offering a premium audio experience with their 8-speaker system from Bose.
Kia is also offering Level 2 ADAS, which includes 20 autonomous features, including Forward Collision Warning and Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, and Lane Keep Assist.
The Kia Carens Clavis will be offered with a Smartstream G1.5-litre T-GDi petrol engine that generates 157 bhp and 253 Nm of peak torque. Next is the 1.5-litre NA petrol engine that generates 115 PS and 144 Nm of peak torque.
The third is the 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine that generates 115 PS and 250 Nm of peak torque. These engines will be available with manual, automatic, DCT, and iMT gearbox options depending on the engine and variants you choose.
As we already know, Kia will continue to sell the Carens Clavis alongside the regular Carens, but it will be positioned as a premium offering. The Carens Clavis will compete with the likes of the Toyota Innova Crysta and is likely to be priced aggressively.
