The Kia Syros is the South Korean automaker’s newest sub-4m SUV. Its complete pricing details will be revealed later this month. However, prior to the price announcement, the company has announced that interested buyers can reserve this tall-boy SUV for Rs 25,000. Also, the company has released a brand-new teaser to announce the commencement of bookings for Syros in India.
Kia Syros bookings open and new TVC
This new television commercial showing the Kia Syros and its announcement of bookings has been shared on YouTube by Kia India’s official channel. It starts off with a little girl looking out of her room’s window and wishing for a miracle. After this, a meteorite-like element starts coming towards the earth and hovers above the ground in her backyard.
Following this, the little girl walks up to this UFO-like object, touches the front of it, and says, “Syros.” After this, the door opens, and she starts staring at the Kia Syros, which was parked inside. After this, it can be noted that the car comes out of the shell, and she enters the car and sits in the driver’s seat.
Next up, she then again gets transported back to her room, and she hears a honk. She then looks out of the window and sees that her father was standing right next to a brand-new Syros. Finally, she, along with her parents, goes for a drive in the sub-compact SUV, and she can be seen enjoying the view of the starry night from the panoramic sunroof of the vehicle.
Kia Syros: Details
The Kia Syros bookings have already commenced, and buyers can reserve one for Rs 25,000. It will be offered in 6 variants, namely – HTK, HTK(O), HTK+, HTX, HTX+, HTX+(O). As per the reports, the company will commence the deliveries of the Syros from February this year.
The Kia Syros sub-compact SUV boasts a unique tall-boy design. It does not look like any other sub-4m SUV in the market at the moment. The main aim of the Kia Syros is to provide a larger cabin for both front and rear passengers, as it has been the main pain point for buyers of vehicles in this segment.
At the front, it gets vertically stacked three ice-cube-like LED headlights and a vertical LED DRL. It also gets a sleek grille, which almost gives it an EV-like appearance. On the lower front section, the SUV gets a unique front bumper with radar for ADAS in the middle.
On the side profile, the SUV gets a chunky B-pillar, which creates a distinction between the front and rear of the vehicle. It also gets a unique design for its 17-inch alloy wheels. The SUV also comes with chunky side claddings and pronounced roof rails. As for the rear, it gets high-mounted L-shaped LED taillights, smaller LED taillights on wheel arches, and also a flat tailgate.
Interior
The Kia Syros, on the inside, gets a simple yet futuristic dashboard layout. It is dominated by a massive 30-inch Trinity panoramic display. The left screen is for infotainment, and the right one is the digital instrument gauge cluster. It also gets a panoramic sunroof, a unique gear lever, an electronic parking brake, a wireless charger, front ventilated seats, and a powered driver seat.
It is the only SUV in its segment that offers ventilation in the rear seats as well. Also, the rear seats can be reclined and adjusted lengthwise. It has been designed to provide the rear passengers with a lot of comfort. The SUV also gets a unique two-spoke steering wheel with controls for various functions.
Powertrain
Kia is offering the Syros with two powertrain options. The first is a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine, and the other is a 1.5-litre diesel motor. The former makes 120 bhp and 178 Nm of torque and will be offered with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT. Meanwhile, the latter will make 115 bhp and 250 Nm of torque and come with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic.
