With days still left for the Bharat Mobility Expo, Mahindra has revealed the prices and variant details of the BE 6 and XEV 9e Electric Origin SUVs. The Indian carmaker shed light on these, during the ‘Tech Day’ it organized on January 7, 2024. Both SUVs are available in three variants each- Pack 1, 2 and 3.

The BE 6 comes in three variants- Pack 1, Pack 2 and Pack 3. The base-spec Pack 1 has an ex-showroom price of 18.9 lakh. This is thus the starting price of the BE range. The base variant comes with just the 59 kWh battery pack. The Pack Two- 59 kWh has an ex-showroom price of 20.40 lakh. The 79 kWh variant will cost 21.90 lakh ex-sh. The top-of-the-line Pack 3 will also come with two batter choices- the smaller 59 kWh version being priced at 21.90 lakh, ex-sh. The Pack 3 79 kWh variant is tech-packed and capable. It has a sticker price of 26.9 lakh, ex-showroom.

Like the BE 6, the XEV 9e also offers the bigger 79 kWh battery only from the Pack 2 trim onwards. The base-spec Pack 1 comes just with the 59 kWh and is priced at Rs 21.9 lakh, ex-showroom. The Pack 2 ( 59 kWh) has an ex-showroom price of 23.40 lakh, while the 79 kWh battery would push the prices to 24.90 lakh. The top-spec Pack 3 will cost you 24.90 lakh with the 59 kWh battery pack and 30.50 lakh with the 79 kWh battery.

Mahindra ME Program Debuts

To make things easy for the Electric Origin SUV owners, Mahindra has introduced the ME program and attractive financing options. The carmaker says that one can own Pack 3 with exactly the same EMI as Pack 1 if he/she has a good CIBIL score- the THREE For ME program. The EMI here can be Rs 45,450, at an interest rate of 8.99%. To be noted here is the fact that to avail this, one must go exclusively with Mahindra Finance.

Mahindra BE 6 And XEV 9e Booking

Mahindra says that they will start accepting bookings for the top-spec 79 kWh Pack 3 variants on February 14, 2025. The booking details of the remaining variants are expected to be out by March.

The carmaker will conduct test drives of the BE 6 and XEV 9e in a phased manner. Demo and test drive vehicles have already started reaching dealerships. There will be 3 phases to commencing test drives. Phase 1 will include cities like Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai. Phase 1 test drives begin from January 14th.

The second phase will cover 15 cities- Ahmedabad, Cochin, Bhopal, Coimbatore, Goa, Howrah, Indore, Kolkata, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Surat, Ludhiana, Lucknow, Tricity, Chandigarh and Vadodara. The drives here will start by 24th January, 2025.

Phase 3 will have pan-India test drives, commencing from February 7, 2024. This will include all cities in Phase 1 &2 along with numerous additional locations.

The deliveries are expected to begin in early March 2025. It will be the top-spec 79 kWh variants reaching their owners first.

While you could talk about the design, interiors and features of these electric SUVs for hours, what truly stands out is the specifications. Both the BE 6 and XEV 9e are based on Mahindra’s indigenously developed INGLO platform and offer the choice of two battery packs- 59 kWh and 79 kWh. Both these have been sourced from BYD, and use Cell to Pack technology. The Valeo-sourced electric motor is mounted on the rear axle and produce around 280 hp and 380 Nm.
