Mahindra’s Christmas TVC Starring XEV 9e And BE 6 Electric SUVs Is Electrifying [Video]

Mahindra has released a Christmas TVC featuring the XEV 9e And BE 6 electric SUVs. Even a quick watch would put a smile on your face and probably make your day! We knew Mahindra would do something like this sooner or later, since when we got to experience the BE 6 and XEV 9e ( or the ‘electric origin SUVs’) in detail. Let’s dive in…

What’s In The Video?

The video shared by Mahindra on YouTube shows a pack of BE 6 and XEV 9e rolling to the ‘Dynamic test track’ at Mahindra’s state-of-the-art testing facility in Chennai- the MSPT (Mahindra SUV Proving Track). Think of this as a large circular flat spread of tarmac. The vehicles are then arranged in a particular way that the view from above makes it look like a Christmas tree.

The real action happens after nightfall. The vehicles turn on their lights and make them sync to the Christmas jingle to put up a majestic show. The XEV and BE 6 can vibe to any soundtrack their LEDs. These come with a lot of lights- both on the outside and in the cabin- which can be synced to the rhythms of music tracks that are being played inside.

Mahindra calls this feature ‘Groove Me’. To engage it, all you need to do is first park the car, engage the park mode, choose music and engage ‘Groove Me’. The SUV would then take over the stage!

We got to experience this feature during the first drive of these electric SUVs, and have been expecting a similar show ever since. The sight of over 20 Mahindra electric-origin SUVs vibing to the Christmas jingle is absolutely satisfying to watch.

Now, a lot of you might try to relate this to the ‘Tesla light show’. In a way, the two are similar. The difference, however, is that Teslas can also play with their trunk, windows, and doors, in sync with the track being played- it is not limited to the lights alone. The Light Show feature is available on models like the Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X.

Why We Think The BE 6 Would Be The Best To Experience Groove Me In?

Yes, the BE 6 could easily pull a rank on the XEV in delivering the Groove Me experience. This is for several reasons mostly revolving around its design. The rear end full-width LED light bar further gets a large number of intricate LED details inside. This bar can display a dynamic EQ of the track that’s playing with these LEDs. In addition to these are the headlamps, tail lamps, and fog lamps that can further dance to your music.

Inside the cabin is where the magic lies. The XEV 9e shares a lot of its cabin design, components and trims with the XUV 700. The look and feel at large, could thus remind you of the ICE vehicle. The BE 6 on the other hand, was drawn from the ground up and as an EV.

It thus gets what could probably be the best surfacing, panels, components and trims in business. The cabin gets a generous use of LED strips for ambient lighting. These illuminated pipings can be seen on the dashboard, centre console and various other places. These would all groove to the music. Plus, the full panoramic glass roof has illuminated patterns on it which is also a part of the Groove Me inventory. The XEV lacks many (not all!) of these, and this it is the BE 6 that excels with the desi light show!
