Mahindra Thar Roxx Base MX1 Variant Priced At Rs 12.99 In A Detailed Walkaround [Video]

The Mahindra Thar Roxx is currently the newest and hottest lifestyle off-roader in India. It has mainly become popular in the country due to its starting price tag of Rs 12.99 lakh. However, for the longest time since its launch, the company was not delivering the base MX1 variant of this SUV. But it has now started delivering the base MX1 variant of the Thar Roxx, and recently, a video showing one has been shared online.

This detailed walkaround video of the base Thar Roxx MX1 has been shared on YouTube by Drrive Expo on their channel. It starts with the vlogger introducing the SUV. He mentions that the model in front is the MX1 2WD petrol variant, which starts at Rs 12.99 lakh. The vlogger then mentions that in Faridabad, the on-road price of this SUV is Rs 15.19 lakh.

Exterior Design Walkaround

Following the introduction, the vlogger starts with the exterior walkaround of the Thar Roxx. He first shows the front end of the SUV and states that it comes equipped with single-pod LED projector headlights with C-shaped LED DRLs, similar to the higher variants. It also gets the same separated front grille and LED turn indicators on the fenders. He states that the base variant misses out on LED fog lights, front parking sensors, ADAS, and a camera.

Next, he moves to the side profile of the SUV. The base MX1 variant comes equipped with matte black front door handles and body-colored rear door handles. It also gets 18-inch silver steel wheels with the new Mahindra twin peaks logo in the center. This variant also comes standard with side steps and Thar Roxx badging on the right side.

Showing the rear end of the SUV, the vlogger highlights that it gets the same C-shaped LED taillights. He adds that the reverse light and brake lights inside are halogen. Lastly, he mentions that it also comes with two rear parking sensors and a simple rear bumper with no silver accents. The MX1 variant also misses out on a rear wiper and rear defogger.

Interior Details

After showing the complete exterior of the Thar Roxx MX1, the vlogger then shows the interior of the variant. He starts by mentioning that even the base variant comes with the white and black dual-tone color scheme. However, unlike the higher-spec variants, it does not get any soft-touch plastics.

He then shows the interior layout of the SUV and states that it comes equipped with a decent number of features. The vlogger first shows the push-start-stop button, which is a rare feature seen on the base variant of any car. After this, he mentions that even the MX1 variant comes with hill-hold assist, traction control, an Android touchscreen, and a small MID in the instrument gauge cluster.

The vlogger also highlights that this variant, unlike the higher-spec variants that come with white leather seats, gets black and silver fabric upholstery. It also gets a height-adjustable driver’s seat, an adjustable armrest for the driver, a manual air-conditioning system, roof-mounted speakers, a multifunction flat-bottom steering wheel, and other features.

Mahindra Thar Roxx MX1: Engine Options

The base MX1 variant of the Thar Roxx comes equipped with a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine. It makes 160 bhp and 330 Nm of torque. On the other hand, there is also a 2.2-litre diesel engine option, which makes 150 bhp and 330 Nm of torque. Both engines only come with a 6-speed manual transmission option.
