Mahindra recently launched the all-new 5-door SUV, Thar Roxx, in the market. Bookings and test drives for the SUV have already begun, and deliveries will commence during Dussehra this year. One complaint that many people had with the Thar Roxx was the interior shade. Mahindra was offering white-colored upholstery, which was extremely hard to maintain in Indian conditions. It looks like the manufacturer has now reconsidered this choice and decided to introduce Mocha Brown interiors.
Mahindra has officially confirmed that anyone planning to buy the Thar Roxx can choose between both ivory and mocha brown interiors. As per the available details, the mocha brown shade will be offered exclusively with the Thar Roxx 4×4 variants. The RWD variants of the SUV will continue to come with the ivory-colored upholstery.
Both themes offer a premium look to the cabin of the Thar Roxx. The white or ivory-colored interior did look premium, but it would easily get soiled after daily use. It is extremely hard to maintain and would make the cabin look dirty if not kept clean. There are people who appreciate the white interiors, which is why Mahindra has decided to offer both options. Bookings for both Mocha and Ivory interiors will start on 3rd October.
Deliveries for the Thar Roxx with ivory interiors will begin by the end of October this year, while customers opting for the newly introduced Mocha Brown shade will have to wait until the end of January 2025. The Mahindra Thar Roxx comes with several premium features like ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, automatic climate control, a touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, and more.
Mahindra is positioning the Thar Roxx as a premium SUV that can be used both on and off the road. Initially, Mahindra had only announced the prices of the RWD versions.
Like other Mahindra products, the Roxx was priced competitively, starting at Rs 12.99 lakh, ex-showroom. Mahindra recently released the prices of the 4×4 variants, which start at Rs 18.79 lakh, ex-showroom, and go up to Rs 22.49 lakh, ex-showroom.
Mahindra is offering the 4×4 version with a diesel engine only, available in MX5, AX5 L, and AX7 L variants. The Mahindra Thar Roxx is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version uses a 2.0-litre mStallion turbocharged engine that generates 174 Bhp and 380 Nm of torque.
The diesel version uses a 2.2-litre mHawk turbocharged engine that generates 175 hp and 370 Nm in the 4×4 variant. The 4×2 version generates 152 hp and 330 Nm. Both petrol and diesel engine options are available with manual and automatic transmission options. As usual, Mahindra has announced that the first-ever Thar Roxx to enter production will be auctioned off, with proceeds donated to a good cause.
