Maruti Suzuki’s flagship MPV is actually not an Maruti and we all know that. The Maruti Invicto MPV which is currently the most expensive Maruti one can buy in India is actually a badge engineered version of Toyota’s Innova Hycross. A detailed review of the same is available on our website and YouTube channel. Unlike other Maruti models, Invicto is not something that you can call as a mass seller. It looks like Maruti is offering year end discounts on the Invicto premium MPV.

As per the reports, Maruti is offering a discount of up to Rs 2.65 lakh on the Invicto. The discount amount differs depending on the variant you choose. Customer opting for the Alpha+ variant of the Invicto can get Rs 1.15 lakh as scrappage bonus. If you finance your vehicle through MSSF, an additional discount of Rs 1.50 lakh is also available.

The Zeta+ variant on the other hand gets MMSF discount of Rs 50,000 along with Rs 1.15 lakh as the scrappage bonus. With the discounts in place, Maruti Invicto is now much more cheaper than the Innova Hycross. So if you were planning to buy a premium MPV we feel this is the right time.

We feel buying a Toyota Invicto is also a smart decision as the waiting period on the Invicto is much less than the Hycross. Other reasons why people should opt for Invicto is because it is essentially a Toyota with Maruti badge on it. Both Invicto and Hycross offer the same features, they both get different exterior designs but, that is only a cosmetic aspect.

both get the same 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment systems with Android Auto and Apple Carplay. However, the Invicto only gets 6 speakers, while the Hycross gets a set of 9-speaker JBL premium sound system.

Apart from this on the interior, the Invicto gets the same captains chair in the middle row but misses out on Ottoman-style seats which the Hycross Hybrid gets. The Invicto also misses out on ADAS features. If you are a person who doesn’t want all these premium features and also want to spend less without compromising on the experience part, we feel Invicto is the one to go for.

Unlike Toyota, Maruti isn’t offering the Invicto in two different engine options. Hycross is available with a 2.0 litre petrol and 2.0 litre strong hybrid engine option. Maruti is only offering the strong hybrid version. This means, Invicto despite being a large MPV offers good fuel efficiency due to the strong hybrid system. You also have the widespread Maruti’s service network.
