The upcoming year of 2025 will be a big one for the country’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki. The company is planning to launch three very important cars. Maruti Suzuki eVX: Brand’s first all-electric car
The first and most important car that will be launched by Maruti Suzuki next year will be the eVX all-electric SUV. It will be built on an all-new dedicated electric platform developed in collaboration with Suzuki’s global partners. It will boast a sleek, aerodynamic body and modern design elements.
It will come equipped with LED headlamps, a closed front grille, a floating touchscreen, and rotary drive dials. It will also get a 360-degree camera, flat-bottom steering wheel, perforated leatherette upholstery, and a large infotainment system.
The EV will have rear handles in the C-pillar, disc brakes on all wheels, and potentially dual-motor AWD configurations. Reportedly, the eVX will come equipped with a 60 kWh battery, offering a driving range of approximately 500 kilometers on a single charge.
Maruti Suzuki eVX is also expected to come with fast charging capabilities, allowing it to charge up to 80% in just 30 minutes. It will deliver around 138 bhp. Maruti is expected to launch the eVX by early 2025.
As for the pricing, it will start at around Rs 25 lakh. This electric SUV will directly compete with the likes of the Tata Nexon EV, Mahindra XUV400, and MG ZS EV. It will also take on the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara 7-Seater
Another major launch from Maruti Suzuki for 2025 will be the 7-seater version of the Grand Vitara. The current Grand Vitara has already garnered a lot of attention in the popular mid-sized SUV market. However, Maruti now aims to take on the three-row, 7-seater SUV segment.
With the new Grand Vitara seven-seater, which has been codenamed Y17, the company will cater to the needs of larger families and those seeking more space and versatility. The 7-seater Grand Vitara will share its platform with the current 5-seater model.
However, it will have extended dimensions to accommodate the third row. It will likely retain the same engine options as the current Grand Vitara, including the 1.5-litre K-series petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology and the 1.5-litre diesel engine. There are speculations about Maruti introducing a strong-hybrid variant for this larger model.
On the inside, the 7-seater Grand Vitara will feature a spacious and premium cabin. The SUV is also expected to come with Maruti’s SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system, wireless charging, and a panoramic sunroof. Safety features will include a 360-degree camera, multiple airbags, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) to ensure a secure driving experience.
The 7-seater Grand Vitara is expected to launch in 2025. The exact dates have not been revealed yet. As for the pricing, it is expected to start around Rs 16 lakh for the base variant and go up to Rs 22 lakh for the top-spec version. With this launch, Maruti aims to compete with established 7-seater SUVs like the Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV700, and Tata Safari.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx Facelift
The third major launch in Maruti Suzuki’s NEXA lineup for 2024 is the Fronx Facelift. The crossover SUV Fronx, since its launch in India, has enjoyed significant popularity due to its unique design. However, the company is now working on the development of its facelift.
The main highlights of this upcoming model will be the inclusion of hybrid technology and ADAS. The Fronx Facelift will also receive several cosmetic updates, including a refreshed front grille, redesigned headlamps, and new alloy wheels.
As mentioned, the company will be introducing a new 1.2-litre petrol-hybrid engine. This technology will not only improve fuel efficiency (around 22-24 kmpl) but also provide additional power. The new engine is expected to produce around 100 bhp, paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
It will also get ADAS, which will offer features such as lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring. Maruti Suzuki plans to launch the Fronx Facelift in the first half of 2025. Prices are expected to start at Rs 8 lakh.
