The Maruti Swift is a popular pick among hatchback buyers. The carmaker has packed the fourth-generation Swift with a lot of desirable features and tech and made it available in five different variants- LXi, VXi, VXi (O), ZXi, and ZXi+. The third generation ( previous Swift) did not have the VXi (O) variant on offer. Let’s see a quick comparison between these variants, and try to know what features change between them.
A video shared by The Car Show details the changes in kit levels on the different variants of the new Swift. It explains what each variant gets and what it lacks. You can watch the video above for a very in-depth understanding of Swift variants.
Before we dive into the variant details, the new Swift is available with just a single engine option- a 1.2-litre three-cylinder (Z12E) petrol motor that produces 82hp and 112Nm of peak torque. These numbers are less than what was offered on the previous car- down by 8hp and 1Nm.
If the Maruti speak is to be believed, the new engine is over 3kpl more fuel efficient than the K-series mill. Two gearboxes are offered- a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. The automatic transmission is offered in all variants except the base-spec LXi. Even the LXi comes equipped with six airbags and halogen projector headlights.
