BaaS Program extended to Comet & ZS EV

After recently launching the MG Windsor EV, JSW MG Motor India has now decided to extend their newly introduced unique Battery as a Service (BaaS) program to its popular Comet EV and ZS EV models. This is an industry-first program, initially introduced with the launch of the MG Windsor EV. Under this unique BaaS program, customers can now bring home the MG Comet EV at a starting price of ₹4.99 lakh and the MG ZS EV at ₹13.99 lakh. The prices of the Comet and ZS EVs have decreased by ₹2 lakh and ₹5 lakh, respectively.

Speaking about the unique ownership program, Satinder Singh Bajwa, Chief Commercial Officer of JSW MG Motor India, said, “With BaaS, we have created a platform for easy ownership, making our EVs more accessible than ever. Given the strong response to the Windsor under the BaaS program, we are now extending its benefits to our popular EV models, the Comet and ZS. I am confident that this unique ownership model will further boost EV adoption in the country.”

The BaaS program is essentially a battery subscription service that allows customers to pay a nominal fee per kilometer for battery usage. With the introduction of this program, the MG Comet has become one of the most affordable electric cars in the country.

The Comet can be purchased for ₹4.99 lakh (ex-showroom), along with an additional battery rental of ₹2.5 per kilometer, making it ₹2 lakh cheaper than before. The MG ZS EV, currently the brand’s most expensive EV in India, can be bought for ₹13.99 lakh (ex-showroom), with a battery rental cost of ₹4.5 per kilometer, reducing its price by almost ₹5 lakh.

The price of the MG Windsor EV starts at ₹9.99 lakh, with a battery rental cost of ₹3.5 per kilometer. In addition to the BaaS program, customers can also benefit from an assured 60% buyback value after three years of ownership, offering a seamless and confident ownership experience.

The newly introduced BaaS program is supported by a robust network of finance partners, including Bajaj Finserv, Hero Fincorp, Vidyut, and Ecofy Autovert. This strategic collaboration ensures a smooth transition to electric mobility for customers across the country.

MG Comet

Launched in the Indian market last year, the MG Comet quickly caught buyers’ attention with its quirky looks and compact dimensions. This boxy small car is extremely suitable for city commutes and can easily seat four people. We have a couple of interesting reels featuring the MG Comet on our Instagram page.

It comes equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster. Unlike other cars, the Comet does not have a push-button start. The Comet EV also features MG’s connected car system, i-Smart, which offers more than 55 features. It has a certified driving range of 230 km.

MG ZS EV

The MG ZS EV was the first electric vehicle launched by MG in India. It is the electric version of their midsize SUV, the Astor, and is powered by a 50.3 kWh battery pack. The SUV comes with premium features such as a panoramic sunroof and automatic climate control. It offers a claimed driving range of 461 km.
