The British motoring brand JSW MG Motor India recently launched its third all-electric vehicle, the Windsor EV, in India. This unique CUV electric car has been launched with a starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh under a battery subscription model called (BaaS – Battery as a Service). Now, following its official launch, the company has released an all-new teaser for this premium electric vehicle.
MG Windsor EV TVC Released
The official TVC of the new MG Windsor EV has been shared on YouTube by Morris Garages India on their official channel. It starts off with a view of the interior of this electric CUV from its panoramic sky roof. Following this, it briefly shows the exterior and interior design of this unique and premium-looking electric car from the brand.
MG Windsor EV: Design Highlights
MG, with this new TVC, has highlighted the design elements of the Windsor EV. At the front, the TVC shows that the vehicle comes with a split headlight setup. On the top half, there is a very sleek and modern-looking LED DRL set which also gets a connecting LED bar in the middle. Another highlight of the front of the Windsor EV is its illuminated MG logo.
Underneath the LED DRLs is a set of all-LED projector headlights placed on the lower bumper. It also gets a bejeweled lower air dam and a classy-looking silver skid plate. There is also a black element in the middle of the headlight units, which carries the Morris Garages badging, finished in silver.
Following this, the official TVC also shows the side profile of the Windsor EV. It gets a floating roofline with blacked-out B, C, and D pillars. Apart from this, it also shows the ORVMs with garnish and the chrome window molding, along with the charging port placed on the front left fender. The CUV also gets 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels.
MG Windsor EV: Interior Highlights
Moving on, the TVC starts showing the interior design of this EV, which is unlike any other vehicle currently on offer in India. The main highlight of the interior of the new MG Windsor EV is its 135-degree reclining rear seats, which the company has named Aero Lounge. These seats, unlike standard leather seats, have a sofa-like design.
It also gets a segment-first 256-color LED ambient lighting setup, which can be seen on the front and rear doors, along with the dashboard. Following this, the video also shows the massive 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment screen placed at the center of the dashboard. The company also offers physical controls for the automatic climate control.
There are also sleek air conditioning vents placed just underneath the screen, along with the same ambient lighting. The Windsor EV also gets an 8.8-inch digital instrument gauge cluster and a flat-bottom steering wheel wrapped in leather. There is also a central partition/armrest that houses the wireless charger. It gets a 9-speaker Infinity music system as well.
MG Windsor EV: Powertrain Details
The MG Windsor EV, as mentioned, is an all-electric vehicle equipped with a single electric motor. It is a front-wheel-drive vehicle that generates a maximum of 136 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque. This EV gets a 38 kWh battery pack, which offers a 331 km range, translating to around 250 km in real life.
As stated above, the Windsor EV comes with a Battery as a Service model. Under this, owners of this EV can lease the battery from the brand, which lowers the acquisition cost of the vehicle. Also, owners will be able to pay for the kilometers they drive.
Additionally, the company is offering an assured buyback of 60 percent in 3 years. The cost per km with this Battery as a Service model comes out to Rs 3.5 per km, which is 40 percent of the cost of a traditional ICE vehicle.
