MG Windsor Pro EV Secures 8,000 Bookings Within 24 Hours Of Launch

MG Motor India has taken the country by storm with the launch of the new Windsor Pro. This bigger battery variant of the already hit electric vehicle, Windsor, has managed to secure 8,000 bookings in just 24 hours of launch. MG opened the bookings for the Windsor Pro on May 8. In terms of the overall sales of the Windsor before the launch of the Pro variant, the company was selling over 3,000 units per month.
The Windsor Pro has been launched with a price tag of Rs 17.49 lakh. It has to be noted that this is the introductory price, and it was only valid for the first 8,000 reservations. The company offers the Windsor Pro in a single top-of-the-line variant — Essence Pro. If you are one of those who are planning to buy the Windsor Pro with the Battery as a Service program,
it will cost around Rs 13.09 lakh, and there will be an additional cost of Rs 4.5 per km. As for the standard Windsor EV, it starts at Rs 13.99 lakh. The mid variant is priced at Rs 15.99 lakh. As for the standard Windsor’s Battery as a Service program, the cost is Rs 9.9 lakh with an additional Rs 3.9 per km.
The MG Windsor Pro comes equipped with a larger 52.9 kWh battery pack. This variant offers a certified range of 449 km. On the other hand, the standard Windsor EV gets a 38 kWh battery pack, which provides a range of 331 km. Both variants come with the same front-wheel powering electric motor, which makes 136 PS and 200 Nm of torque.
As for the features, the new Windsor Pro gets Level 2 ADAS, which is absent in the standard model. It gets features such as adaptive cruise control, lane assist, forward collision avoidance system, and 9 other major features. It also offers 3 levels of warnings. Apart from these, the Windsor Pro comes with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging capabilities.
Apart from these, it also gets wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging pads, a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8.8-inch digital instrument gauge cluster, a 9-speaker Infinity audio system, automatic climate control, cruise control, and a panoramic glass roof. The Windsor Pro also gets beige interiors, faux wood trims, copper-colored accents, and the same “Aero Lounge” rear seats, which can recline up to 135 degrees.
In terms of design, the new Windsor Pro gets the same exterior design as the standard model. However, it can be differentiated by the 18-inch 10-spoke diamond-cut alloy wheels. It also gets Pro badges and three new colors, namely — Celadon Blue, Aurora Silver, and Glaze Red. The Windsor EV will boost the sales of the already popular EV in the country.
