Maruti Ciaz was once a top-selling car in India. It was low, roomy and comfortable for four. The sedan, however, is not the most popular today. Despite being a slow seller, Maruti has no plans of axing it yet. We have seen many modifications based on the Ciaz over the years. However, this one from Mumbai, takes things to a whole new level. Navi Mumbai’s Sai Auto Accessories has fitted a Ciaz with an Amotriz body kit that, as claimed in the video below, makes it look like a BMW.
This YouTube video shows the modified Ciaz in detail. The host can be seen explaining the story of the car, and the modifications done to it. The garage seems to have installed a body kit sourced from Amotriz, a Thailand-based company. Visuals of both the ‘before’ and ‘after’ forms can be seen. The car previously had notable dents and broken paint. It even had a broken front bumper lip.
Sai Auto Accessories seems to have done a good job in getting it back in shape. They fixed the dents, installed the body kit, and gave it a good paint job. The finished product looks good and well-detailed. Coming to the kit, the video calls it the Amotriz 2.0. The grille desperately tries to mimic the design of the new BMW M4 Competition. Does it succeed in doing so is a totally different question.
Amotriz Kit For Maruti Ciaz
The one featured here is the second kit from Amotriz, for the Ciaz. It takes inspiration from the new M4 and consists of 5 parts. The large grille remains to be the biggest attraction. It gets a glossy Black finish and horizontal slats. The front bumper is new and muscular. It even gets a prominent lip skirting, which is finished in Gloss Black on this car.
The pillars and roofline are now finished in Black. Headlamps are OG units, that have been modified with Onyx-styled rings highlighting the projectors inside. The colour of these can be changed using your smartphone. Fog lamps are new too.
There are also side skirts along the running board, mounted on top of the existing skirts. There is a Black spoiler mounted on the tailgate. The rear bumper is new and gets a diffuser with 4 fins. The alloy wheels also wear Black and brake callipers and drums have been painted red. There are also faux vents on the fenders, which the host says are ‘Range Rover styled’. A fair amount of Chrome can be seen at multiple places of the design.
The car featured here is a diesel Ciaz. It used to offer a sweet diesel engine, before going all-petrol towards the later half of its life cycle. DDiS badges can be seen on the original car, which seem to have been removed on the finished product.
Unlike many modifications that limit changes to the exterior alone, this vehicle gets a complete overhaul to its interior. Claimed to have taken inspiration from BMW again, the cabin now gets a dual-tone finish- in Almond and Walnut. The seat upholstery is finished in an Almond shade while the piping is in Walnut (Brown). A similar two-colour treatment can be seen on the centre console, dashboard and doors as well.
Multiple elements also get a wooden finish. The steering gets a wood finish along with Walnut and Almond colours. There is generous use of leather inside and a complete ambient lighting package that’s neatly integrated into the cabin design. The roof liner now gets a Coffee coloured velvet finish.
The infotainment unit has been upgraded to a large 9-inch touchscreen from XENOS, with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto. The system gets 2GB RAM and 64 GB storage. It also acts as the display for the reverse camera. An XL6-borrowed sunglass holder has also been added to the car…
The exterior of this modified Ciaz gives us mixed impressions. However, the way its interior has been upgraded wins our respect and we think the same is worth putting your money on…
