Finally, today, the Japanese automotive giant Honda Cars India is going to launch the much-anticipated third-generation Amaze. Over the last few days, we have seen various spy shots of this sedan. However, if you are one of those people who are not aware of the changes that will be offered in the new Honda Amaze, we are here for you. Following are the changes that you can expect from the new 2024 Honda Amaze sub-compact sedan.
A completely new exterior design
The first and most important change that you’ll notice is that the third-generation Amaze now looks like a baby Honda City. This time around, the company has completely changed the front fascia as well as the rear end. At the front, gone is the simple horizontal grille with the thick chrome bar. Rather, the new model gets a much larger hexagonal-pattern gloss black grille.
It also gets gloss black surrounds and a chunky chrome garnish on top, which extends from one end to the other. Apart from this, Honda has also ditched the old projector headlight setup. Instead, the new Amaze now gets Elevate-like dual LED pod headlights, which look a lot sleeker.
The lower section of the front fascia boasts a new bumper with horizontal slats and redesigned housings for the LED fog lights. Overall, the new front end of the Honda Amaze looks much classier and more sophisticated. It is also a lot more modern than before.
Moving on to the side profile, the company has not changed many things except for a set of new dual-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels. The overall silhouette of the third-generation Amaze will be the same as the second-generation model.
Lastly, Honda has also changed the entire rear end of the new Amaze. The old C-shaped LED taillights will be replaced with U-shaped LED taillights that are seen on the Honda City. The only major difference between the two siblings will be that the Amaze’s taillights will be slightly chunkier.
Brand-new interior inspired by Elevate
Apart from the redesigned exterior, you will see the new Amaze with a completely new interior as well. The interior strikingly resembles its mid-size SUV sibling, the Elevate. A free-standing 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system will take center stage, and just underneath it will be the sleek AC vents.
Unlike the Elevate, which gets a wooden panel around the vents that runs throughout the dashboard, the Amaze will get a unique pattern in the middle. There will also be Elevate-like automatic climate control buttons, and two cup holders will be present on the center console.
The overall cabin will be finished in the classy dual-tone shade of beige and black. Other changes will include a new multifunction steering wheel, which is seen on the City and Elevate. Apart from these, the new Amaze will also get Honda Sensing, which is Honda’s camera-based ADAS system.
Same old powertrain to continue
As for the powertrain, Honda will be utilizing the same 1.2-litre petrol engine that it offers in the outgoing model. This i-VTEC engine generates 88.5 bhp and 110 Nm of torque. Transmission duties will be handled by a 5-speed manual transmission. However, there will be a CVT gearbox on offer as well.
Pricing to get a bump
Coming to the pricing of the new Honda Amaze, as there will be a ton of new features and a brand-new design, we can expect Honda to bump the price of the Amaze. The current-generation model starts at Rs 7.23 lakh and goes up to Rs 9.99 lakh. It will continue to compete with the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura, and Tata Tigor in India.
