12 New 7 Seat Cars Launching In India In 2024 And 2025

The craze for SUVs has been on the rise, both in India and around the world. Manufacturers have been introducing new models to attract customers. In India, the compact SUV segment has been performing well, and now manufacturers are experimenting with 7-seater SUVs. Several 7-seater or three-row SUVs are set to be launched in India this year and next year. Here’s a list of all those SUVs:
First on the list is the Alcazar Facelift. Hyundai has officially released images and videos of the Alcazar facelift. The SUV will be launched on September 9. It comes with premium features like ventilated seats, electrically adjustable seats with memory function, a panoramic sunroof, leatherette upholstery, a large touchscreen infotainment system, and more. The Alcazar will be offered with a 1.5-liter turbo petrol and a 1.5-liter turbo diesel engine option. Both engines will come with manual and automatic transmission options.
Videos and images of the Kia Carnival have been circulating on social media for some time. We know that this premium MPV is coming to India and is expected to be launched sometime in October this year. Like the previous model, Kia is expected to pack the Carnival with premium features and offer it with a diesel engine only.
MG’s flagship SUV has been undergoing testing in India for some time and will undergo significant design changes inspired by the Maxus D90 sold abroad by SAIC. The SUV will be offered with the same set of single and twin-turbo diesel engine options.
Another Kia model undergoing testing in India is the Carens MPV. The facelifted MPV will receive heavily revised front and rear ends, with major feature updates including ADAS. In terms of engines, Kia will continue to offer the same petrol and diesel options as the current version. The Kia Carens facelift is expected to be launched in India in the first quarter of 2025.
Maruti Suzuki’s Grand Vitara has been performing well in terms of sales since its launch. Following its success, Maruti is planning to launch a 7-seater version of the SUV in India, expected to hit the market sometime in 2025.
Toyota is also planning to introduce a 7-seater version of the Hyryder. The SUV will come with the same engine options as the 5-seater variant. It remains to be seen whether Toyota will launch their SUV before or after Maruti. The SUV is expected to launch in 2025.
Toyota recently launched the diesel mild hybrid (MHEV) version of the Fortuner in the South African market. With the Fortuner being a popular model, Toyota plans to bring this SUV to India as well. The hybrid technology will be paired with the existing 2.8-liter diesel engine.
The India-bound Volkswagen Tayron has been spotted testing ahead of its international debut. The SUV will compete against models like the Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster. The Tayron will be introduced as a CKD unit and is expected to be launched in 2025.
Following the launch of the Curvv.ev, Tata is planning to introduce the Harrier EV, followed by an electric version of the Safari. The Safari EV is expected to be launched in the Indian market in the first half of 2025.
One of the most affordable MUVs in the country, the Triber, has not received a major update since its launch. Renault is preparing to give the Triber a facelift or a generation update. It’s hoped that Renault will offer a turbo petrol engine along with other updates. The updated MPV will be launched next year.
Mahindra showcased the XUV e8 concept, an electric version of their current flagship XUV700 SUV, a few years ago. Although reports suggested a possible launch by December 2024, it seems more likely that it will be launched in early or the first half of 2025.
Mahindra might launch an updated version of the Scorpio N next year. The facelift is expected to feature minor cosmetic changes and level 2 ADAS, which is currently missing. It will continue to be powered by the same petrol and diesel engine options.
