The South Korean automotive giant Kia is relentlessly working on the development of the new-generation Seltos. Dubbed the SP3 HEV, the spy shots of this upcoming SUV are now surfacing on the internet. Recently, based on these spy shots, a rendering of the next-generation Seltos has been generated. This particular rendering gives us insight into how the new model could look once launched in India as well as in international markets.
2025 Kia Seltos Rendering: What It Could Look Like
Design Details
For the new second-generation model, Kia has ditched the styling approach it had with the first generation. Gone is the signature “Tiger Nose” grille, and in its place is a new and more futuristic-looking 16-slat grille. This time around, the LED headlights have also been given a thorough redesign. They have now become rectangular, with two LED DRLs encasing the actual LED projector headlights.
Another notable detail is the addition of vertical LED DRLs, which house the cornering and fog lamps. Moving a little below, we can observe that the front bumper has also been completely redesigned and gets a sizable air dam and a silver skid plate with extended triangles that add a premium touch.
Moving on to the side profile, the rendered model gets a new and more boxy silhouette. It looks inspired by the Kia Telluride, which is the brand’s flagship model in international markets. It also gets a set of new diamond-cut alloy wheels with a geometric pattern.
Also, the rendered model gets flush-type door handles. There is a kink in the rear quarter panel as well. Other highlights include pronounced roof rails, chunky side claddings, and new sportier-looking ORVMs.
This particular rendering does not show the rear of the car. However, previous spy shots of the SUV have revealed that it will get a set of rectangular LED taillights, which most likely will have a connecting strip in the middle. Also, the Seltos’ rear will get a revamped bumper with a faux skid plate as well.
Interior Design
At the moment, there are no spy shots showing the complete interior layout of the upcoming Seltos. However, as the new model will be a major revamp, it will come equipped with a new dashboard. It could feature the newly showcased 30-inch Trinity panoramic display. Other features will include ADAS Level 2+.
Kia Seltos Hybrid: Powertrain Details
Apart from the brand-new exterior design, the new Seltos’ highlight will be its new hybrid powertrain. The SUV will come equipped with a 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine, which will make 141 bhp and 265 Nm of torque. As per reports, Kia aims to offer a balance between power and mileage with this new hybrid drivetrain setup.
Kia is planning to phase out its time-tested diesel engine across the globe and in India in the coming period. The new BSVII norms will make it harder for the company to continue the production of the diesel motor in India. It also has to be noted that this same hybrid motor will later be offered in the Carens MPV as well as other models from the brand.
Currently, the Kia Seltos has three engine options. The first is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which makes 114 bhp and 144 Nm of torque. There is also a 1.5-litre diesel motor that produces 114 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. Lastly, the Seltos is also offered with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine, which makes 158 bhp and 250 Nm of torque.
