Morris Garages, or MG, has recently made headlines due to the launch of the Windsor EV. This electric car has managed to dethrone the Tata Nexon EV from the top-selling EVs list. Now, to bank on this popularity and keep the momentum going in India, MG is planning to launch six new cars. So, if you are interested in knowing which of these six new cars are coming to India, here are the complete details.
MG Cyberster EV
The first vehicle on this list, which will be launched by MG in India, will be the Cyberster EV. It will be the first electric sports car to go on sale from a budget carmaker. It will feature scissor doors, a premium two-seater layout, connected screens, an 8-speaker Bose audio system, and an electrically folding roof.
As for the powerplant, this unique EV sports car will come equipped with two options. The first will be a single-motor variant with 340 PS of power and 475 Nm of torque. It will also offer 507 km with its 77 kWh battery. On the other hand, there will be a dual-motor variant as well.
It will make 503 PS of power and 725 Nm of torque and offer a 443 km range with the same size battery. As for pricing, it will be priced around Rs 75–80 lakh and will take on the BMW Z4 in India. It has been confirmed that it will make its India debut at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo next month in January.
MG Gloster Facelift
Next up on the roster is the MG Gloster facelift. The company recently gave the SUV a minor facelift, but its major facelift will be officially launched next year. This time around, it will feature a brand-new front fascia, and overall, it will have a more boxy design. It will get a split LED headlight setup, a bigger grille, and new alloy wheels.
On the inside, it will get a large touchscreen, dual wireless charging pads, a rotary dial for 4X4 modes, and more. As for the powertrain options, it will get a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine making 158 bhp and 373.5 Nm of torque. There will also be a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine, which will make 212 bhp and 478 Nm of torque.
MG Astor Facelift
MG will also be launching the new Astor facelift in India next year. The mid-size SUV from the brand has not been given a major facelift in a long time, and hence its sales are falling every month. This time around, it is expected to get a self-charging hybrid setup, which could get a 1.83 kWh lithium-ion battery.
It will also get updated front and rear bumpers, dual connected screens on the dashboard, upgraded ADAS features, a 360-degree camera, and power-adjustable seats. It will take on the current segment champions, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and others. It is expected to make its debut late next year.
MG Mifa 9
Following the launch of the MG Cyberster, the company will also launch a premium electric MPV called the Mifa 9 EV. It could be launched around March of next year. As for the design, it will boast a similar design and silhouette to the Toyota Vellfire and Kia Carnival, which are currently on sale in the country.
It will come equipped with a 90 kWh battery pack, and it will draw its power from a front axle-mounted motor. It will make 245 bhp and 350 Nm of torque. As for the range, the company claims that it will offer around 430 km of WLTP-certified range. It will be priced around Rs 65 lakh and will be offered via MG Select dealerships.
MG4 Electric Hatchback
MG, a while ago, showed the MG4 electric hatchback, and it has now been reported that the company is planning to launch it next year in 2025. It features a very sporty appearance with swept-back LED headlights, sculpted body lines, and arrow-shaped LED taillights.
It will come equipped with a 77 kWh battery pack and offer 245 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque. Once launched, it will become one of the fastest hatchbacks on sale in India.
MG5 EV Wagon
Back in 2023, MG showcased the MG5 EV Wagon, and it is expected to make its debut next year. It will be a unique offering equipped with a 61.1 kWh battery pack. In terms of power, it will produce 156 PS and 280 Nm of torque. As for the range, it will offer around 402 km on a single full charge.
