Honda is known to launch the next generation Amaze in India on December 4, 2024. Since Maruti has brought fresh winds to the compact sedan space, Honda wouldn’t think about delaying the market entry any further. The carmaker had previously released a teaser of what’s coming and now a new set of design sketches have revealed more details of the upcoming car’s design.

The new images show the front three-quarter, rear three-quarter and cabin designs. While the actual product might differ slightly with its proportions and design details, these tend to give solid hints at what is to be expected.
Next-Generation Amaze: What Is To Be Expected?
The compact sedan will take strong cues from the Elevate SUV and City sedan. The front fascia looks more or less like a minified, hunkered-down Elevate. It will have new headlamps with brow-shaped LED DRLs, as you see on the SUV. Even the Chrome accents seem to have been retained. Instead of its predecessor’s sleek grille, the next-gen will have a larger hexagonal unit, which would again invoke memories of the Elevate. The front bumper looks sculpted and gets a central air dam and fog lamps- distantly resembling the City.
The side gets evident, with neat and sharp body lines and good-looking surfaces. A character line seems to run from the edge of the headlamps and runs along the car’s length. The alloy wheels could likely be dual-tone units on the production car. The rear resembles the larger City with its neat, uncluttered, and handsome design. It gets tail lamps that look roughly like the City’s and a clean bumper design. The design at large, seems to have evolved into something that’s better looking and more mature than before. It now better adopts the family look.
New Honda Amaze: Expected Interior Changes And Features
The cabin too will have a strong influence of the Elevate. The official design sketch reveals a large free-standing touchscreen infotainment system (likely a 10.25-inch screen), stylish HVAC controls and a semi-digital cluster. There will be a multi-function steering wheel and features like a wireless charging shelf, USB ports, and two cup holders, like those on the SUV.
The dashboard will get have a two-tone finish- likely finished in Black and Beige with Silver accents. It will also have textured finishes on it. Rumours also hint at the sedan getting ADAS (Honda’s Smart Sense), in which case, it will be a first in the segment. The recently launched Maruti Dzire doesn’t get this feature. It, however, comes with a single-pane sunroof, and we are not sure if the Amaze will have one too.
New Honda Amaze powertrain options
No major changes or upgrades are expected on the powertrain front. It will most likely be powered by the same 1.2L iVTEC petrol engine as before. Two transmission options will be available – a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic. The Amaze used to offer a diesel engine in the past, which was discontinued over time. It is currently a petrol-only model. The news also has it that Honda might bring a CNG version of the new Amaze. This would make it put up a fight against the Dzire CNG.
In the Indian market, the primary rival of the upcoming Amaze will be the new Dzire. Along with it, models like the Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor will also battle the new Amaze upon launch.
