The Venue is one of the most popular Hyundai models in India. The manufacturer is working on a generational update to it. The new SUV seems to have begun testing in Korea. Spy shots of the same are already out. The new Venue is expected to get major design changes. A new digital rendering shows how the new generation could look. The digital artist Malvin WS has shared a digital imagination of the next-generation SUV.

The render has a face that resembles those of the Kona and Tucson. It looks good. The artist says that this rendering was imagined years ago, and had since been staying stagnant. The side design remains almost identical to that of the outgoing Venue.

Test mules of the new Venue were seen with heavy camouflage on them. This made it difficult to get clear clues on the design changes that were to be expected. The overall shape confirms that the new Venue will carry forward its familiar compact and boxy stance. That said, the upcoming model will come with sharper styling, a wider grille, and updated lighting elements.

The front-end is expected to get split LED headlamps and new DRLs along with a full-width LED light bar. A revised bumper with a silver skid plate could also make an appearance. Interestingly, the images also show a radar module placed on the lower grille, suggesting that the new SUV will offer Level 2 ADAS features.

The new generation Venue will have a new set of alloy wheels that resemble the ones on the Creta EV. These 16-inch wheels sit inside pronounced round arches. All wheels will have disc brakes as well. There will be a thick black cladding as well. The rear profile remains mostly hidden in pictures, but it’s likely that Hyundai could offer major changes to the tailgate, spoiler, and rear glass design.

The next-generation Venue will also come with a 360-degree camera. This will work in association with front and rear parking sensors.

While details of the cabin haven't been revealed yet, Hyundai is likely to do a complete redesign to the dashboard. It will have a more premium look with an increased use of sustainable materials. The manufacturer previously took similar approaches with the Creta Electric and the IONIQ 5.

The feature list could include electrically adjustable ventilated seats and a large, curved display. The display cluster will include a digital instrument cluster and an infotainment touchscreen. Rumours even suggest that Hyundai could even offer a triple-screen layout, like what we see in the Kia Syros. The sub-compact SUV is also expected to get a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, ambient lighting, and an upgraded audio system.

No Change in Engine Options

Under the hood, the next-generation Hyundai Venue is expected to carry forward the current engine lineup. This includes a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol, a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The transmission choices will include manual, iMT, DCT, and automatic gearboxes.

These are already known for their balanced performance, reliability and fuel efficiency, so Hyundai seems content to keep them unchanged for now.

Launch Timeline

The next-gen Hyundai Venue is expected to make its official debut in India later this year. With strong rivals like the Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, and Kia Sonet on sale, keeping pace will need major reworks on various fronts. The new Venue could set a new benchmark in the subcompact SUV space if Hyundai delivers on all of these.
