Nissan Magnite Facelift Teased Again: Grille Design And Tail Lamp Revealed!

nissan magnite facelift

The Magnite has been the breadwinner for Nissan India. It has sustained the Japanese brand’s Indian vertical, with its attractive value proposition and overall appeal. The sub-4-meter SUV, first launched in 2020, is now set to receive a facelift- its first since debut- on October 4, 2024. The carmaker has released another teaser ahead of the launch, showing glimpses of exterior changes.

The teaser shows the upcoming vehicle’s grille and tail lamp designs. The grille seems to resemble the one on the pre-facelift SUV. However, it could be larger and get better detailing—several test mule sightings from the past hint at this possibility.

Coming to the tail light, the shape remains unchanged at large. But the new Magnite will have upgraded interior LED elements in it, with more attention to detail.

This is not the first time that Nissan has teased the upcoming Magnite. The first teaser showed the alloy wheel design of the new car. The facelift was previously rumoured to get 7-spoke wheels. The teaser confirmed otherwise, revealing stylish 6-spoke dual-tone alloys.

Nissan Magnite Facelift: What To Expect

Spy shots suggest several exterior updates like a revised front fascia, a new grille design (as seen in the newest teaser), new front and rear bumpers, and L-shaped LED DRLs. In addition to these, the tail lamps and wheels will also get revisions as featured in the teasers.

There will also be slight revisions to the designs of the bonnet and rear windshield. The tailgate too is expected to sport minor reworks. These speculations are based on the silhouette icon used on the Nissan India website.

The cabin design will likely see revisions as well. It will be beefed up with upmarket trims, more features and other practical additions. Cabin colourways and materials used could also be changed. Also expected is a larger touchscreen infotainment system instead of the 8-inch unit on the outgoing model. Other possible feature additions are a digital driver display unit, wireless phone charging, and a single-pane sunroof.

The Magnite facelift will likely come with features like Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, connected car tech and OTA, rain-sensing wipers, ventilated seats for driver and co-passenger and a premium sound system. On the safety front, the SUV will offer 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), 360-degree camera, hill start assist, traction control, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors. among others.

The facelifted Magnite would retain the current vehicle’s powertrain. The 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine could continue to make 100 hp and 160 Nm, while the NA version would deliver 71 hp power and 96 Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual transmission and CVT will be offered on the turbo version whereas the NA guise will get an AMT instead of CVT.  It remains a possibility for Nissan to have played around with the states of tune, of these engines. In that case, we will get to know the exact power and torque outputs at launch.

The ‘It’s On Me’ Product!

Nissan currently has just two models on sale in India- the Magnite and the XTrail. The latter was launched in August this year. This essentially means that till AUG, the Magnite was single-handedly driving in all the sales for the brand. The best-selling model also happens to be the only model available! You know how risky that sounds…

The numbers, however, haven’t been bad. The Magnite has been averaging 2,500 units per month. While these might not be huge enough to safely sustain a brand, they are definitely good for a single-product portfolio. Courtesy of the XTrail’s pricing, the Magnite could continue to remain Nissan’s ‘it’s on me’ car in India. The facelift will boost these volumes for sure.

In the Indian market, the Magnite facelift will compete with the Renault Kiger, Hyundai Exter and Tata Punch. It could have a price premium over the current model, considering the amount of tweaks it would pack. This made-in-India Nissan SUV will also be exported to as many as 40 countries, including LHD markets.
