Accidents are quite common on roads almost everywhere in the world. In India alone, hundreds of accidents are reported every day. The major cause of accidents in almost every case is carelessness. Getting involved in an accident is one thing, and fleeing from the spot without taking responsibility is another. We have seen many cases where people who cause accidents flee the spot out of fear or some other reason. Here we have one such video where a Renault Triber driver hit a biker and fled from the spot, but was chased down by a group of bikers.

The video has been shared by Pagan on his Twitter profile. In this video, we see a biker riding behind a Renault Triber MPV. The car was on a busy city road, and it looks like the driver was driving recklessly. We can hear the biker asking other riders near him to maintain a safe distance from the car and not come in its way.
Looking at the way the car was being driven, it appears that the driver had already crashed his car into other vehicles and was trying to escape. As he was attempting to flee from the vehicle following him, he crashed into a biker who changed lanes and came in front of his car. The car driver didn’t slow down and simply rammed into the bike, causing the biker to fall on the road.
The biker who was behind the car recorded this accident on his camera. He then started following the car in a bid to stop the culprit or the driver. As it was a city road, there was a fair amount of traffic, and the driver couldn’t flee from the riders. The driver eventually slowed down at a traffic jam where the bikers caught up and blocked the way. One of the bikers on the road threw a stone and shattered the window glass to stop the driver.
The rider opened the door of the car and asked the driver to get out. It is not clear whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol or not. It is also not clear how many occupants were in the car. The video shows damaged front fenders, bumper, and number plate of the car. The cladding around the wheel arches has also been damaged.
We have no information about the biker who was hit by the car from the rear. We are assuming that someone might have helped him, and he would have escaped with minor injuries.
Under this video, we see several comments both supporting the car driver and the bikers. One user wrote, “The bike rider is totally at fault here. You can’t change lanes suddenly and expect others to dodge you.” Another user wrote, “Why does it look like the car driver did something fishy and is trying to run away from the scene even before the car hit the two-wheeler?” “Just note down the number, and video evidence is enough; people should not take the law into their own hands. He may be in an emergency as well.”
If you ever get involved in an accident, never try to flee the spot. Accidents happen, and the right thing to do in such cases is to inform the concerned authorities.
If you have hit any other vehicle or person, check if he or she is fine and then take them to the nearest hospital or call for an ambulance. Fleeing the accident spot is actually a crime and will only get you in trouble.
