Skoda has confirmed its participation in the upcoming Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. The event is scheduled to start on January 17th. The Czech carmaker will showcase a range of interesting products there and also announce the debut/launch of some. Here are 5 new Skoda cars that are to be expected at the Skoda pavilion.
1. New Generation Skoda Superb
The Superb made its global debut in late 2023, and took a while in making it to the Indian shores. In India, a lot has happened around the car- the Superb that was on sale here was the CKD unit. It was discontinued at the time of BS6 transition. Later, however, Skoda reintroduced the sedan as a CBU offering and a hefty price tag. Unsurprisingly, not many people bought the CBU Superb. It is now selling with discounts of up to 18 lakh in place!
The Czech giant will bring the new generation Superb to the Expo where it is expected to make its India debut. It features the new ‘Modern Solid’ design philosophy and shares a lot of its interior with the Kodiaq. Under the hood will be a 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine, at launch. Rumours also say that Skoda could introduce a diesel engine on the upcoming Superb at a later stage. This sedan will remain to be a CBU-only model, and could thus be on the pricier side of things.
2. New Skoda Kodiaq
The next big showcasing is of the all-new Kodiaq. It will be based on the MQB EVO architecture and will be an improvement over its predecessor. It gets more technology, features and a reworked interior. It will continue to be a 7-seater and will use the same engine as the upcoming Superb. The 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine will be offered with a 7-speed DCT automatic unit and 4×4 system. We expect the priced to be around 40-42 lakh (ex-showroom).
3. Skoda Octavia RS
Skoda is also known to bring back the Octavia in its sportier RS form. It will be shown for the first time at the Expo and will appeal to performance and dynamics seekers. The Expo showcase will help Skoda measure customer reactions and market feedback. It will have the 2.0L turbocharged TSI petrol engine as its powerhouse- which will likely produce 265 bhp and 370 Nm.
4. Skoda Elroq EV
Based on the Modern Solid design philosophy, the Skoda Elroq is a good-looking car. It will also make its premiere at the Expo. Skoda is currently evaluating the feasibility of launching the Elroq EV here and the Auto Expo feedback and reactions will only add value to its study.
This EV offers 3 battery choices globally- 55 kWh, 63 kWh and 82 kWh. There are both RWD and AWD versions to it in various global markets. It remains to be seen which of these would be present on the India-spec. The Elroq EV is claimed to deliver up to 560 km in range.
5. Skoda Enyaq iV
The Enyaq iV was shown at the last Bharat Mobility Expo as well. It had attracted much attention back then and was seen as Skoda’s first EV for India. Recently the vehicle has been spotted on test and the launch could commence soon. The carmaker is working on a major update to the Enyaq and it will be the new version that finally makes its India debut.
The India-bound Enyaq iV will likely come with a 77 kWh battery pack that promises a range of 513 km per charge. It will continue to be based on VW Group’s born-electric MEB architecture and will be more than 4.5m in length. It will not, however, be a 7-seater!
