The Skoda Kylaq, which was recently launched in India, has managed to achieve a huge milestone. According to Skoda India, in the first 10 days of the commencement of bookings, the Skoda Kylaq has managed to achieve over 10,000 bookings. In addition to this, Skoda India is also taking three Kylaqs across the tour of India, and this tour has been named “The India Dream Tour.” It will commence on December 13th.
Skoda Kylaq Receives 10,000 Bookings
Skoda India has managed to receive 10,000 bookings for its newly launched Kylaq in just 10 days after opening the bookings. As per the company, the official deliveries of the new Kylaq will commence on January 27th. For those who may not be aware, bookings for the Kylaq commenced on December 2nd.
Commenting on this huge milestone, Petr Janeba, Brand Director, Škoda Auto India, said, “10 days and 10,000 bookings, without a car in the showroom! For us, Kylaq is a completely new car, in a completely new sub-4m SUV segment. These 10,000 bookings have come without any possibility for customers to experience Kylaq, which reflects the unmatchable trust in the Škoda brand, and we are extremely humbled.”
He added, “We are confident that Kylaq will democratise European technology on Indian roads. The India ‘Dream Tour’ will allow us to bring this exciting product closer to the ever-growing ‘Fans of Škoda.’ We aim to create a deeper connection with our customers by giving them a first-hand experience of the Kylaq’s unique features and modern design language.”
The India Dream Tour
In addition to this milestone achievement, Skoda India has announced that the company will be sending three Skoda Kylaqs on a pan-India tour. It will start from the Chakan Plant in Pune on December 13th and will end on January 25th after all three cars return to the plant.
The company has stated that all three cars will be covering 70 cities in three routes. It stated, “Each route will explore a different region, heading out in distinct directions before returning to the plant by January 25, 2025. The West-South route will include cities like Pune, Kolhapur, Panaji, Mangaluru, Mysuru, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.”
It added, “The West-North route will visit cities such as Mumbai, Surat, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, and Delhi, while the third route will head East from Pune, covering cities like Nashik, Nagpur, and Kolkata, among others.”
With this India Dream Tour, Skoda aims to provide prospective customers a chance to look at this newly launched sub-compact SUV in person. As stated, the official deliveries of this SUV will commence on January 27th.
Skoda Kylaq
The Skoda Kylaq is currently the most affordable Skoda vehicle available in India. It starts off with a price tag of Rs 7.89 lakh for the base variant and goes all the way up to Rs 13.35 lakh. It is being offered in four variants, namely Classic, Signature, Signature+, and Prestige.
All of these models come equipped with the same 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine with 115 bhp of power and 178 Nm of torque. The Classic trim only comes with a manual transmission option. Meanwhile, all others come with an optional automatic transmission.
In terms of features, the Skoda Kylaq gets a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, two-spoke steering wheel, an 8-inch digital instrument gauge cluster, a sunroof, keyless entry, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, front seat ventilation, powered front seats, and leather upholstery.
