Skoda India has launched its most affordable offering, the Kylaq, in India. This new vehicle competes in the highly competitive sub-compact SUV segment, which is dominated by two main SUVs—the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Tata Nexon. Before talking about anything else, let us first discuss the pricing details of the Kylaq against its main rivals, the Nexon and Brezza. The Kylaq starts at Rs 7.89 lakh, while the Nexon starts at Rs 8 lakh. The Brezza, on the other hand, starts at Rs 8.34 lakh. So, when compared on the base spec pricing, the Kylaq is the most affordable vehicle in the lineup.
However, when it comes to the top-spec variant pricing, the Brezza takes the cake. The top-of-the-line Brezza is priced at Rs 14.14 lakh, while the Kylaq comes second at Rs 14.4 lakh, and the most expensive one is the Nexon, priced at Rs 15.5 lakh.
Dimensions
Now, coming to dimensions: as all of these SUVs compete in the sub-compact SUV segment, they measure exactly the same at 3,995 mm in length. However, the Nexon is the widest of the three, with a width of 1,804 mm, and the Kylaq is the narrowest at 1,783 mm. The Brezza sits in the middle, with a width of 1,790 mm.
As for the wheelbase, the Kylaq leads the segment with 2,565 mm, and the Brezza comes in second place with a 66 mm shorter wheelbase. The Nexon has the shortest wheelbase of 2,498 mm, and for this reason, rear passengers feel very cramped.

In terms of powertrain, the Skoda Kylaq is the most affordable vehicle in its segment that offers a turbo petrol engine option. It comes powered by a 1.0-litre TSI engine, which makes 115 bhp and 178 Nm of torque. It is offered with both a 6-speed manual as well as a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The Nexon, on the other hand, is the vehicle with the most number of engine options.
