Skoda To Launch 2 New Electric Cars Next Year: Details

Although slightly late, the Czech automaker Skoda is gearing up to join the electric vehicle party in India. It has been reported that the company is planning to launch not one but two electric SUVs next year in 2025. Now which two SUVs are on their way to the Indian subcontinent. Well, you’ll have to find that by yourself. So without any delay let’s jump right into it.

Skoda Enyaq IV

The first electric product from Skoda to make its debut in India will be Enyaq IV. This particular SUV has been spotted testing completely undisguised in the country on many occasions. Now finally it is being reported that the company is gearing up to launch this model next year. At the moment the exact date for its launch has been shared.

The upcoming Skoda Enyaq IV is based on Volkswagen Groups MEB electric platform. This is the same platform which is utilized by the Volkswagen ID.4 EV SUV. This new model from Skoda is expected to come equipped with 77 kWh battery pack.

With this it is expected to offer a range of 513 km in a single full charge. As for the electric drivetrain, it will come with dual electric motor setup. This will help in offering all-wheel-drive and a 265 bhp power output. It will also support 125 kW DC fast charging as well.

As for the design, the Enyaq IV will boast the striking appearance that all Skoda cars offer. It will get the same signature butterfly grille. However, the unique part about it will be that it will be illuminated. Apart from this it will get sleek LED headlights and a sharp and aggressive looking front bumper.

It will also boast a ton sleek yet sporty looking sloping roofline and sharp body lines. Meanwhile the rear will come equipped with LED tailights and an aggressive rear bumper. On the inside, it will get a 13-inch infotainment screen, digital instrument gauge cluster and leather upholstery.

Skoda Elroq EV

Now coming to the second electric SUV to be offered by Skoda in India, it will be the Elroq EV. Skoda will officially unveil this EV SUV on October 1 and it will then go on sale in Europe in early 2025. Following this it will be launched in India later in 2025.

The Elroq will be a 4.2 meters long EV SUV which will also be based on same Volkswagen MEB Electric platform. Most likely it will be brought in India via the CBU route. However, if the demand increases. It could be brought in via the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route.

The Elroq EV which will be showcased next month will be offered in 4 variants. These will be namely Elroq 50, 60, 85, and 85X. Power output of these variants will range from 168 bhp to 295 bhp. As for the battery pack options it will be offered with three options.

The first will be a 55 kWh battery pack. Meanwhile the other two will be 63 kWh and 82 kWh. The 82 kWh battery pack could offer a range of around 560 km in a single full charge. In terms of design, the Skoda Elroq will boast a split headlamp setup and it will also boast a ton of sharp body lines.

Bonus Skoda EV

Although not coming in 2025, Skoda will also be launching a smaller and electric SUV called the Skoda Epiq. This model will most likely compete with the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400. It will be based on Skoda’s A0 BEV platform.
