To shake things up a little bit at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon, Suzuki has previewed a new concept of its crossover, the Fronx. This new edition of the Fronx will be called the Sea Bass Night Game Concept and will boast unique aesthetic mods. Most likely, it will not be officially launched in Japan or India. Also, along with the Fronx Sea Bass Night Game Concept, Suzuki will be showcasing the new Swift Sport ZC33S Final Edition.
Fronx Sea Bass Night Game Concept: Details
First off, let’s talk about the design details of the previewed Fronx Sea Bass Night Game Concept. It will boast a revised front bumper along with a dark silver guard over the central air dam. There will also be a protective bar on the lower portion of the front bumper, which will help when taken for light off-roading.
Apart from this, the bonnet will get a black wrap or finish. It will also get bright green accents on the chrome garnish, which is placed behind the Suzuki emblem, and also on the lower front bumper’s silver skid plate. The grille design, LED headlights, and the tri-point LED DRLs will remain the same as the standard model.
Moving on to the side profile, this concept will get a set of bigger Yokohama Geolander all-terrain tyres with unique off-road-specific alloy wheels. What will be even more unique is that the front wheels will be finished in gloss black, while the rear ones will get the same bright green color.
The complete body of the Fronx Sea Bass Night Game Concept will be finished in dark grey and black camouflage. There will also be a Fronx logo finished in the same bright green color on the rear door and rear quarter panel.
Other small details will include bright green accents on the wheel arches, behind the silver side skirts, rear quarter glass, and the Sea Bass Night Game Concept badge on the front doors.
Last but not least, the roof of the Fronx Sea Bass Night Game Concept will get unique dual ski boxes. These will be mounted on the rugged-looking roof rails. Lastly, this particular car also gets a set of auxiliary lights on the roof as well.
Why has Suzuki shown this Fronx concept?
As stated, the Suzuki Fronx Sea Bass Night Game Concept has been showcased to give the Suzuki lineup at the Tokyo Auto Salon a unique flair. It follows the “night fishing in the city” concept and has been designed to lure in fishing enthusiasts.
Powertrain upgrades?
As with all other special edition models, this particular Fronx will not boast any powertrain upgrades. This means it will come equipped with the same 1.5-litre petrol engine. It should be noted that the Fronx sold in Japan comes with a mild hybrid system. It makes 102 bhp and 137 Nm of torque.
It comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as well as a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Another unique feature of the Suzuki Fronx sold in Japan is that it is available in both front-wheel-drive configuration as well as all-wheel-drive configuration. The Fronx sold in India does not get AWD or mild hybrid systems.
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx sold in India comes with two different engine options. The first is a less powerful 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which makes 89 bhp and 113 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the other engine is the 1.0-litre BoosterJet motor, which makes 100 bhp and 147 Nm of torque.
