Tata Altroz Racer Launching On 7th June: 5 Big Changes

Altroz racer

Tata is all set to launch its all-new Altroz Racer in the market. The sportier version of the Altroz is expected to be launched on 7th June. We have already seen several teaser videos and images of the upcoming Tata Altroz Racer online. Here we have a list of 5 Big Changes that differentiate the Altroz Racer from the regular version.

Most Powerful Altroz

We’ll start with the engine first. The Tata Altroz is usually offered with two petrol and one diesel engine option. There is a 1.2-liter, naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-liter, turbocharged diesel engine, and a 1.2-liter, turbocharged petrol engine (iTurbo variant). The Altroz Racer will use the same 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine as the iTurbo variant. However, it will be tuned differently.

It will generate more power and torque than usual. The 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine will generate 120 PS and 170 Nm of peak torque. It will be offered with a 6-speed manual transmission only. It should also be noted that only the NA petrol engine gets an automatic or DCA transmission option. All the other engine options come with a manual gearbox only.

Paint Job

The Tata Altroz Racer can easily be differentiated from the regular version. The exterior design of the hatchback will remain the same; however, to give it a sportier look, the paint job has been changed. It will be offered with an Orange and Black dual-tone theme. There will be white racing stripes that start from the bonnet and go all the way to the end of the roof. The pillars and the lower window garnish will also be finished in black for a sporty look. We can also see Racer branding in several places, such as the front fender, which differentiates it from the regular Altroz. The orange is a new shade, and it remains to be seen if Tata will offer the Racer version exclusively in this shade.

10.25-Inch Touchscreen

The touchscreen on the current version of the Altroz is smaller and looks dated. This will be replaced with a brand new 10.25-inch unit, which we already saw in the Nexon, Harrier, and Safari. The touchscreen will also have Tata’s new UI, which looks premium. Along with the touchscreen infotainment system, Tata will also update the instrument cluster. The semi-digital instrument cluster will be replaced with an all-digital one.

Ventilated Seats

Tata is expected to offer the Altroz Racer with ventilated seats at the front. This would make the Altroz the only hatchback in its segment to get this feature. Just like the exterior, the interior of the hatchback also gets cosmetic changes. The cabin is mostly finished in black with orange accents. The racing stripes can be seen on the seats too. The seat covers on the Altroz Racer are finished in leatherette material.

360-Degree Camera & HUD

The Tata Altroz Racer will also get features like a 360-degree camera with a blind spot monitoring feature. This is a premium feature that no other car in the segment gets. Other than this, Tata is also expected to offer a Head-Up Display or HUD, which makes the car look premium and sportier.
