Tata has officially launched the sportiest version of their premium hatchback, the Altroz, as the Altroz Racer in the market. The price for the all-new Altroz Racer starts at Rs 9.49 lakh, ex-showroom, and goes up to Rs 10.99 lakh, ex-showroom. Deliveries for this version of the Altroz are expected to start soon. Tata recently released a commercial video for the new Altroz Racer. The Altroz Racer makes 120 PS, and competes with the Hyundai i20 N-Line, which also makes similar power.

The video has been shared by Tata Motors on their YouTube channel. In this video, Tata showcases the Altroz as a car that stands out from the rest of the market. With its loud paint job and body graphics, it does manage to attract attention. The rest of the video highlights the performance and features that Tata offers with the Altroz Racer.

Tata is offering the Altroz Racer in three color options: Atomic Orange, Avenue White, and Pure Grey. In this TVC, we see the Atomic Orange shade of the hatchback. All three shades offered with the Altroz Racer are finished in a dual-tone scheme. It is not just the roof that is blacked out; even the bonnet of the car gets a black finish, and the blacked-out portion of the bonnet and roof also features racing stripes for a sportier look.

The exterior design of the car remains the same, with blacked-out grilles and a lower window line. There are no chrome elements on the car except for the badge on the tailgate. The front grille of the car is slightly redesigned. The 16-inch alloy wheels retain the same design as the regular Altroz; however, they now feature a gunmetal grey finish.

The interior of this hatchback has also been redesigned. It gets a blacked-out cabin with a new 10.25-inch touchscreen. It is the same unit seen in the Nexon, Harrier, and Safari. The seats are wrapped in leatherette upholstery. There are racing stripes on the seat covers too, and we see Racer branding here as well.

The instrument cluster on this most powerful version of the Altroz has been updated too. It now features an all-digital instrument cluster, which gives it a premium look. Tata is also offering features like ventilated seats, which is a segment-first feature. There are orange accents around the AC vents and center console around the gear lever.

Tata is offering the Altroz Racer in R1, R2, and R3 variants. The R1 variant is priced at Rs 9.49 lakh, ex-showroom. The R2 variant is priced at Rs 10.49 lakh, ex-showroom, and the top-end R3 is priced at Rs 10.99 lakh, ex-showroom.

The Altroz Racer directly rivals the Hyundai i20 N Line. Compared to the N Line, the Altroz is much more affordable; however, it misses out on an automatic transmission.

Coming to the engine, the Tata Altroz Racer uses the same 1.2-liter, three-cylinder, turbocharged engine that is offered with the iTurbo. However, for the Racer version, it is tuned differently. This engine now generates 120 PS and 170 Nm of peak torque. It is the same tune as seen in the Nexon petrol. This engine is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
