Tata Motors have finally launched the much awaited Curvv EV in the Indian market. All the details about this electric SUV Coupe are out. Along with the launch, a video has been uploaded on YouTube by The Fat Biker which shows the Curvv EV being driven on a highway, completely undisguised.
The video starts with the Curvv EV parked behind a Honda City. Some of the key features such as connected tail lamps, flush door handles, 18 inch alloy wheels and the SUV Coupe design can be easily seen. The Curvv EV gets a higher stance, similar to that of the SUVs and a sloping roofline seen in Coupes.
This means that the Curvv enjoys high ground clearance without affecting aerodynamics. In the video, the Curvv EV can be seen driving around multiple cars such as an Ertiga, Ciaz, Sonet and the Innova Crysta. The vehicle seems lower in height than the Kia Sonet but it is much wider than the sub compact SUV. The Curvv EV looks similar to the Innova Crysta in terms of breadth.
Talking about the dimensions, the Curvv EV has a length of 4310 mm, width of 1810 mm, height of 1630 mm and a wheelbase of 2560 mm. Now, let’s talk about this new player in detail.
Tata Motors have launched the Curvv EV with two battery pack options: 45 kWh and 55 kWh which is the largest battery pack in this segment. The 45 kWh battery pack has an ARAI claimed range of 502 kilometers while the 55 kWh pack can drive up to 585 kilometer on a single charge, as per ARAI.
The brand understands that the real world figures are quite different from ARAI figures, hence, they have specified a real world driving range of 400 kilometer and 350 kilometer for the 55 kWh battery pack and the 45 kWh battery pack respectively.
The Curvv EV is the most powerful electric vehicle made by Tata till date as it is powered by a 165 BHP motor. With the motor, the car can touch 100 kilometer per hour mark in just 8.6 seconds.
The SUV Coupe is loaded with features on both the inside and the outside. Key features in the exterior include smart digital lighting like connected DRLs with welcome and goodbye animation, smart charging animation, sequential turn indicators, LED projector headlamps, LED front foglamps with cornering function, digital connected LED taillamps with animation, electric front charging lid with auto open/closing, flush door handles and 18-inch alloy wheels.\
The interior of the Curvv EV gets all the amenities such as front ventilated seats, six-way power adjustable driver seat, cooled glove box, front and rear fast charge C type 45W, 60:40 rear split seats, two-stage rear seat reclining, 12.30-inch cinematic touchscreen by Harman, 10.25-inch digital cockpit, digital control panel, voice-assisted panoramic sunroof with mood lighting, powered tailgate and a smart digital shifter.
