Tata Motors has revealed prices of the ICE version of Curvv coupe. The SUV coupe has a starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh, ex-showroom. It is available in four variants (Smart, Pure, Creative, and Accomplished), six colours and three engine options. The Curvv EV is already on sale and is in high demand. The petrol and diesel versions, however, differ in their design and come with unique styling elements. Here’s a set of images for you to have a better understanding.
Exterior
In design, Tata Curvv resembles its electric counterpart to some extent. The overall silhouette looks the same. However, the petrol/diesel version gets enough unique details to make its design stand out. Unlike the EV, the petrol and diesel Curvv gets a prominent grille with a gloss Black insert towards its upper end. Designs of the grill and vertically positioned headlamps will remind you of the Harrier. The LED DRLs and full-width light bar get a welcome function.
The petrol and diesel versions of the Curvv get flush door handles. It, thus becomes the first Tata vehicle (ICE) to feature these. Other design highlights include a redesigned front air dam, connected tail lights, and a new set of 18-inch wheels that look fancy. The ICE version gets bold Piano Black cladding around its body.
There are a total of six colours on offer- Flame Red, Pristine White, Daytona Grey, Opera Blue, Gold Essence, and Pure Grey.
Courtesy of its design, the Curvv’s boot-lid seems slightly raised. It offers a total boot capacity of 500 litres. Interestingly, this is same as that of its all-electric counterpart.
The ICE-powered Curvv is designed with a steeply sloped roofline, improving its aerodynamic efficiency. Its large wheels, 190mm ground clearance, and increased approach and departure angles render a solid stance. It is underpinned by the new ATLAS platform. The same will be used on future Tata ICE models like the Safari/harrier facelifts, and Sierra.
Interior And Features
On the inside, the ICE Curvv gets an attractive dual-tone burgundy colour scheme. More manufacturers should consider bringing in Burgundy cabins. The seats are spacious and supportive. The driver seat offers 6-way power adjustments. The rear row offers 40:60 split layout and ample thigh support.
The Curvv shares many of its cabin components with the Nexon. However, the use of different colours and materials draws clear lines of separation between the two. The four-spoke steering wheel gets an illuminated Tata logo and integrated controls.
Tata Motors has packed the coupe with features. It gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The Curvv comes with a 9-speaker JBL premium audio system.
Other features offered on the Tata Curvv are ambient lighting, a voice-assisted panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch digital instrumentation, a wireless charger, electrochromic IRVM and electronically controlled tailgate, 360-degree camera, ventilated seats and electric parking brake.
Like the Curvv.EV, the petrol and diesel versions will also offer level 2 ADAS. It comes with adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, blind spot detection, lane change alert, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and rear cross-traffic alert.
The Tata Curvv will offer three different engine options to suit various driving preferences. The first option is a 1.5-liter diesel engine, delivering 116 bhp and 260 Nm of torque. Another choice is the 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine, which generates 118 bhp and 170 Nm of torque.
The third option is Tata Motors’ latest release- the Hyperion direct injection petrol engine, which produces 123 bhp and 225 Nm of torque. All these engines will be available with manual and dual-clutch automatic transmission options. The Curvv thus becomes the first to offer a DCT-diesel engine configuration.
